Why so big?

Why does everybody think that new ride will be over 400ft.? Why does everybody think that it will go over 100mph? When did this new ride get considered an Intamin Rocket Coaster? Sorry for the questions but I feel I missed out on some stuff.

I agree. But CP could throw anything at us, so I think people are hoping for the biggest and baddest ride around!

Why not? Cedar Point is known for setting the bar time and time again...what if they want to bump it up another hundred feet?

The size: The massive footers.
The speed: Necessary to get that high.
IRC: Orange markings near Troika, Chaos, line up with Area 51 (i think?)

The only other remote possibility isa TA2k from S&S, but considering downtime, capacity, etc. it's unlikely.

Jeff made a remark about settling record disputes and I think this is why so many people are going physcotic.

There idea was S:TE is the tallest coaster in the world at 415 feet. Well a 420 foot ride would beat that and at the same time put 16 coasters at one park.

Personally I would think the record dispute would be most coasters and not some assorted craziness. But who knows.

Welcome back Magnum riders how was your ride?

A reason could be is that a few people said it would be something big and everyone else started to think that too because it seemed like the "popular" thing to do.

So what's better; skydiving or riding in Raptor's front seat?

I honestly doubt that the ride will be any higher than 300ft. tall. I have a good argument too, but I'm kinda saving it. ;)

Well, then again, my reasoning is based on Jeff's clues. Nuff' said. ;)

Here's a few questions rolling around in my mind...
#1-Is it possible that the new ride isn't at all an exciting record-breaking thrill ride and that's why no big announcement is being made during what whould typically be announcement making time?
#2-Are Chaos and Troika being completely removed or just moved? and if they will be completely removed.....
#3-Will CP lose their status as having the most rides in a park if they remove the two and only replacve it with one?

#1--no

#2--probably just moved

#3--no...I believe that they would still have the record at 67, but I'd rather them have the record at 69. :)

Amen to a record of 69!
Sorry for the off topic question but any idea who holds the second place for the number of rides?

Chaos, Troika, and the entrance to Paddlewheel Excursions are being moved elsewhere in the park

I think that the Six Flgs in New Jersey is #2 for total rides in one park.

I don't think MF should be de-throned this soon. Let it be #1 for a few more years. Save some money, and put in a medium sized flyer or woodie.

Who's saying it will dethrone MF? To many people, MF didn't detrone Magnum. If the ride is pure speed and almost no substance, I'd say that it wouldn't dethrone MF. Not to say that it wouldn't have humungous lines.

Amen to that, CPcyclone! (but believe me, I won't complain if it's 350 to 400+)
