Why so big?

Is'nt there a park in Europe that is building a 400 ft + Intamin Giga???

Truthfully speaking I wouldn't at all be unsatisfied with something in the 350` - 375` range. Think about it though. 400` range is almost, to the industry as a whole, unbeatable, impossible, undone... If CP went with a more tame height (300' range), some other park within a year or more is going to clone it and put it in the 400` foot range to beat CP, so why not just do it now while most parks are still scrambling to reach even 300`?

Remember that when this ride was just in the planning phase they probably wanted to have the highest coaster. The rumored tera for Heide park over in Europe was still in the works so Cedar Point probably believed that it would become a reality. I think it was rumored to be 415-425 so they would have had to go higher. So take that for what it's worth.

You know, I made what I want to be in Area 51 on No Limits. It's only about 230ft., but it has 4 airtime hills that result in MASSIVE airtime throughout the ride. I think it's a pretty cool layout, but I doubt it fits in Area 51. I could send it to someone if they wanna see it. The supports aren't done, but all of the track is.

Why do you think a big coaster is going to be fit into the area that was just the Dodgem. Isn't that limiting the vision a bit?

Maybe, but I can dream can't I? ;) Yea I doubt it will be anything like mine, but I had an idea that could fit right along with one fo your comments. Having a small stengel dive right after the launch and then going into the tophat. Maybe the stengel dive could be replaced with an overbanked turn, but it would be kewl.

The bigger they make it the more juice marketing gets to bring new/old guests in. Even if it's NOT huge, as in 400 feet, marketing should still have enough to have fun pimpin their new ride.
