When I got my contract, it said that I had to be at CP on April 14th. I know that the park doesn't open until the first weekend in May. So why do I have to be there so early? Is it for cleanup or something else. Oh yeh. I'm working in park ops if it helps.

That's rather early to start a contract. Who knows what they will have you doing for those early weeks. Should be interesing.

Seasonal contracts start in mid March. You'd be surprised how much cleanup work needs done.

The park is a mess in the off season. Bails of straw and sand scattered everywhere, especially in light of the major construction.

I have worked mid March through opening day a couple of times. The transformation from what the park looks in March to what it looks like in May always amazed me.

I have always wondered what the park looks like in April and May. I have always started in June because my school, Youngstown State, is on the quarter system.

you might be suprised how many seasonals there are at the Point already. It is a sure sign of spring when the lights are on in Bayside in the mornings--and there were people moving in this week!

I got hired at Cedar Point as a sweeper. I process in on May 5. I start May 6. I want to know if I could work weekends in April cleaning up the park. If this helps I'm still in High school. I start working full time June 3. I graduate June 8. I can't wait to start my 4th summer at the Point. Do they clean the park 7 days a week to get it ready.

Hey Rob... there ARE seasonal employees here. I guess the surprise is on you. We have had seasonal employees arriving for some time and people have been moving into Bayside since Wednesday.

Then why are Heather and Hoover all waiting to find out when they can start?

luckily , for all of us, not every employee starts at the same time!! I would have to believe each department has it's own schedule for getting their people in in time to have their part ready-

Hey Rob, to answer your question... they are waiting because Mike is still waiting to be told when he can have employees in. Right now, the only work in Foods is in the office and Training. With BHI closed we have thier staff to help in the office and the only other people working in Foods right now are in the Training Department. I think employees in Foods will be able to start around March 27th. Not really sure.

Yeah Jenn and Rob-
We were told March 27th so as far as I am concerned, I am not too worried about going up there before that. I am working the other job till March 17th and then I have training that weekend and then a week off so I am pretty much booked until the end of the month anyways. At least I have something to keep my mind off of how excited I am to go back. For the next two weeks I work mid shifts (11-9 approximately) so I guess I won't have too much time to be worried about why we can't start up there sooner!
