The last of the chains disappears in a landslide, along with poor ol' lonely Macaroni's.  I have a hunch though that Mac's will indeed experience a resurgence next year with it's new Wicked neighbor.

Anyone ever look at the Happy Friar?  He's huge.  Working in fried foods just isn't for him.   His cholesterol count must be through the roof.  I mean, CHEESE, that's been FRIED?  One of those is bad enough, but mixing the two together...my arteries feel for the Friar.  I vote we send him on his way...

Okay...I'll take a break from novelty voting for a minute to say something went terribly, terribly wrong at the Happy Friar this year.  What the heck happened?  The fries were just all wrong when I visited CP (6/24) and VF's Happy Friar has been pushing the same lower-quality crap. 

You can just look at them and tell the potatoes were all wrong.  What were they, Michigan Whites?  High-moisture Wisconsin Russets?  Frying spuds in peanut oil does not invoke miraculous change, folks...it just helps the ones that were good to begin with.

Until CF changes them back to their original glory, Happy Friar's in my doghouse.  I haven't even had one since '98 and I'm STILL mad.

Dominics for me this round.  And I can't imagine a trip to CP without a stop by the Happy Friar...I've been doing it for too many years!  Leave the big guy alone people!

I will place my vote for the Boathouse... it, and one other on the list, are the only two I've never visited... if I haven't been there in all my years of going to CP.. I obviously ain't gonna miss 'em.
