CoasterMania 2022

When I bought mine around 12:30 or so, there was no queue line at all. It was very quick and painless. I was shocked they weren’t sold out already. I’m so pumped. I’ve never been to CM and this will also be my first time back at CP since 2019. Can’t wait!

Purchased mine at 12:32 Eastern and the queue was non-existent. Does anyone have a rough guess on how many tickets CP is selling (or what they've capped CoasterMania sales at in the past?)

You can still buy tickets. Hopefully it's not a ton of ticket sold. The limited number of tickets in the past is what made the event so nice!

IIRC, there were 1200 tickets sold for the initial event when coater clubs were required, in 2016 I believe. Since then it seems there have been more people participating. I would guess, and it is strictly a guess, that there are between 1500 and 1700 tickets sold now.

It also took around 4 weeks or so to completely sell out in the past.

Alot of ACER"S will not be going because the Coaster Con is there this year.

Yep, ACE coaster con is 2 weeks after coastermania.

Got my ticket around 10:05 with barely a wait. Haven't been to Coastermania since 2009 and haven't been to the park since 2019. I am tres excited.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Based on years past, does anybody have an idea of how cruise times are determined? Like based on order of tickets purchased or something, or totally random? It would suck to be right at 10 and have to leave ERT early to get there

My understanding historically is that they're given out in order of check-in, based on time slot. So I'd imagine as long as you're not among the first people in line to check in, you'll probably be in a later time slot.

Disappointed in the event so far. 1+ waits for Magnum and Maverick at the start of the day made the ERT pointless. Seems like they oversold tickets for the event, as it has not been enjoyable so far. Just going to pick up my pin and tshirt at 11 and call it a day.

The SV ERT time is inconvenient for sure, as I think every one here is in line for it. The ERT line looks longer than the line would be during regular hours. Currently the entire overflow queue is full and the line goes back to the train tracks. On the bright side, no FL during ERT, which highlights how much FL slows down the regular line.

I honestly would rather have the Fast Lane than ERT. Sure, a tshirt is nice, but $45 to just stand in line for hours hasn't provided any benefits so far. I hope that in the future, they go back to coaster clubs only, as the value just isn't there so far.

Gemini ERT is where it’s at. 😀

I decided not go to this year and do Coasterstock at KI instead and you all are making me glad I did. I get that the parks don't NEED coaster groups or coaster enthusiasts at all in order to be successful, but they also probably don't want to create a situation where a bunch of them are complaining about the event on social media and in the park all day and just creating a toxic environment in general. They'd probably be better to just not have the event at all than to have it and oversell it and make it sort of not really worth the energy/money. I was wondering what the deal was because tickets were still available WEEKS after they went on sale whereas Coasterstock sold out in under 10 minutes. I guess they simply sold too many tickets from the sounds of it.

I will say that Don and the team at KI did a tremendous job with their event again this year. It's over two days, the ERTs are more than just a ride or two at a time making the waits usually no more than a few trains (aside from the wacked out people that want to get kiddie coaster credits that have to wait longer), and the food, speeches, contests, etc. were plentiful and just really enjoyable. I don't know if their team just enjoys putting on events like that more than Cedar Point's, but it sort of has been coming across that way for a while now.

I opted to go to Coasterstock this year instead of Coastermania, and judging by the buzz I’ve seen online, I’m glad I made that decision. Sounds like the event was grossly oversold and delivery fell short, well at least for the morning ERT. A couple of people i know who attended the event said they never even got to ride Steel Vengeance or Maverick during ERT this morning, and they were there when the event started.

Coasterstock on the otherhand was a world class event. Everything was top notch, from the food, to the staff’s energy during ERT. I hope Coastermania can recover for those attending the event today, and those who will attend in the future.

Adding to all the other comments, no neck lanyards, wristbands instead, they were a collectible souvenir for me.

I have no complaints with Coastermania. Got in line for SV 20-minutes before10. Due to a hiccup during inspection of the ride it opened 20-minutes late. Once it opened we were on and off in 30-minutes. The only suggestion I would make, would be to go back to giving out the T-shirts at registration.

During the Q&A Tony asked how many belonged to a coaster club and. from where I was setting, it looked like over 70% raised their hand.

If you complainers don't like the way things have been going then stay away. Make room for those who want to be there.

Well done Tony and crew!
