Hey everybody,
A group of friends and myself are planning our 1st trip to Cedar Point in late July... I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on a cheap hotel to stay at that's within reasonable driving distance to the park? We'll be staying there for only one night, and hardly even use it, plus we are all college students, so: THE CHEAPER, THE BETTER! :)
Thanks!!!

Dusk to Dawn is cheap, but I haven't stayed there in years. It's supposedly newly renovated and it's about 5 miles from the park on Rt. 250. I've heard the Clarion Inn and Maples Motel is reasonable also.

Oh, if only I had the magical powers to move this out of the Trip Reports section...
At any rate, I got the Travelodge on 250 (about three miles from the park) for $56.56, tax included. This was last Friday night.

I hear ya, Duane. Wave the magic wand...
Here's the key to staying near CP cheap. Make friends at school with someone from Sandusky. Then talk their parents into letting you stay there for the weekend. ;) Thats what I did, 2 fraternity bros were from Sandusky. Stayed at both of their houses all the time.

You could always bring a tent and stay at the campground nearby (not the one at CP, but I forget the name of it). From what I heard, that's only $25 a night per tent. Found out one time camping in a tent if you don't know anyone in the area definitely is a cheap way to go...just don't do it in a hurricane.

The Mecca Motel (beyond the Radisson) is clean, cheap, and has an outdoor pool. They have a shuttle, too. Nice people own it, and they will give you a CP package if you don't have CP's coupon book
