Planning Theme Park Trip from London UK

Hi all, it's my first time posting on here. My plan is to visit Cedar Point and Six Flags Great Adv in Jackson, NJ, and Kings Dominion Amusement Park, Virginia.

I have maximum of 10 days at my disposal. I do not drive but do Greyhound buses service these areas? Has anyone had experience of doing an all round theme park trip similar to the ones I am proposing?

Thanks.

What is your reasoning to do 3 parks so far away from each other? Kings Island maybe closer to CP than Six Flags New Jersey is to Kings Dominion. Plus Busch Gardens is real close to Kings Dominion and SFGA is much closer to other parks. Not driving may be a problem. I'll let others chime in on that.

You might consider hitting up only Cedar Fair parks and then purchasing a platium pass for 2015. You only need 4 park admissions for that to pay for itself. Cedar Point, Kings Island, Kings Dominion and Carowinds might be a good itinerary. The pass will get you free parking and early entry to all parks you visit, as well as hotel discounts and food deals. You might want to weigh the value of the meal deal add on as well.

Of course you could do the same thing with Six Flags, but after all this is PointBuzz...

Cedar Point,Six Flags Great Adventure NJ,and Kings Dominion ARE the 3 best parks to do. Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Kings Island do not compare to the above 3. But I can't comment on the bus aspect. Carowinds is good and will be even better with the addition of Fury in 2015. Dorney is close to 6FNJ but not much coasters. Staying overnight near 6FNJ is difficult as there are no motels/hotels near the park, found that out 3 years ago. If I was coming over from over there, those are the 3 that I would do.

number of times to Cedar Point:50s/60s/70s/80s-3,1995-1,1996-27,1997-18,1998-13,1999-20,2000-16,2001-8,2002-7,2003-18,2004-14,2005-18,2006-28,2007-16,2008-17,2009-28,2010-26,2011-27,2012-21,2013-18,2014-24,2015-29,2016-46,2017-13,2018-14,2019-10,2020-0,2021-3 Running Total-483 72,000 miles traveled for the point.

Where is your arrival/departure destination once in the US? That would be a good place to start planning your itinerary. And yes, if most are Cedar Fair parks, a platinum pass would be a great benefit. If you don't drive, maybe a fellow traveler(with you) does. Maybe a rental car would be a better cost effecive idea to consider. That way, your not limited to specific areas of interest. Check each web site (of desired parks), I'm sure there is info on public transportation. All the same, enjoy your trip!

Keep passing the fun along!

That's a matter of opinion, and not one I would even remotely align with. I haven't been to SFGAdv in years, but it didn't do much for me. Dominion is a nice park, but it doesn't even remotely compare to Bush Gardens, which is easily one of the most beautiful parks in the country with a solid collection of rides. With Banshee, Kings Island is more of a "complete" park than it ever has been.

I know that Greyhound serves Sandusky, OH. I'm not sure of the other cities but I bet they do as the parks are close enough to an urban area large enough to warrent bus service. Your best bet is to go to www.greyhound.com and look for yourself.
