That Ocean that kept getting referred to looked an awful lot like Lake Erie ;)

More importantly after seeing that video and Magnum at night it reminded me how badly Magnum needs a new lighting package. The sooner the better.

True, I love the lighting packages they put on the Ferris Wheel and MF. If they did something like that for Magnum it would really spruce that ride up at night.

Ever since I was a kid I loved the park at night, now these new LED ligthing systems are just incredible.

You guys will laugh at me, but I listen to country all the time. Everytime I hear this song, it makes me think of Cedar Point and all the fun times I have had when I've gone. I cannot relate to the girl in the song because I usually go with my friends and until this year have been single the last 7 years.

But seemed like a CP advertisement more than a music video..especially with the sing a long text.

Well, sure, other than calling Lake Erie an ocean. :)

People do call that an ocean though..which is sad to me. The first time I heard that, so much hope for mankind was lost.

I've overheard people talking about the Lake Erie "Ocean" also, more than I ever would have thought possible. Very sad that people are confused about such basic knowledge.

I've been in line for GateKeeper and overheard people around us trying to decide which side to sit on and saying "which side is closest to the ocean?" I never know whether to laugh or cry. On topic, very cool video, and thanks for posting it.

Maybe I just tune everyone out most of the time, but I don't think I've ever actually heard someone refer to Lake Erie as an ocean.

That's funny how you guys mention these people. These are probably the same people I get at my second job(Giant Eagle). People come in and will ask the stupid question, "Where's the Produce dept"? Gee I don't know, it's only the first thing you see when you walk in! LOL!

It used to be that when I would see a news headline that claimed a large percentage of Americans can't find the US on an unmarked world map I would laugh because I was sure they had to be wrong. I know better now. I watched a 7th grade class fill in the states on a blank US map a few years ago when I was subbing. The teacher wanted to see how much the class knew so far, turned out the answer was not much. I understand when you get out west there are a bunch of states all shaped the same but if you're in Ohio you should at least be able to find Ohio...right? Wrong...

^ really? They didn't even know what their own state looks like on a map? I think they need to teach geography better in that school.

It was a real eye opener since I normally spend most of my time in special ed where I expect to find students having trouble but yeah, wow. I can say though that it was probably not a teaching issue. The kids didn't seem to really care a whole lot about where states were and now that everyone has GPS they probably care even less.

I have heard people say Lake Erie had to be an ocean. If it was a lake you could see the other side.

You mean like how you can see the other side from the right place on the island? :P

To be fair, most people on here wouldn't be able to get all 50 states right let alone take a map of europe or asia or africa and get them right. Heck, I don't even remember where everything is in Africa.

The lack of knowledge of the 50 states and Canadian provinces is pretty sad. We should probably know all of that and where they are on a map.

I probably wouldn't get 50/50, I would mess up some of the squarish states out west I'm sure but seeing more than one 7th grader write Ohio on Texas when they live in Ohio was perplexing. At least they knew Ohio should be by the water, that's something I guess. I'm not sure whether they really spend enough time teaching this in school now that I think about it. My long term assignments lately have been in 1st, 3rd and 4th grade groups and I'm not sure any real amount of time was spent on where the states are without breaking it up and throwing other information in with it. I'm not sure that they actually start with a good foundation of where everything is before they start going into this battle and that war.

CP is actually a peninsula and the "other side" you are seeing is probably Pelee Island, I don't think you can see the Canadian mainland from CP.
