Sorry for switching gears here, but on the tour did they say anything about putting a roof over the storage track? With the white beams that are already above the storage track makes me believe that try will, but then again, I don't really see any indication that a roof is coming.

It should be enclosed soon. If you look closely at this photo, you can see the blue floor around the storage tracks goes slightly past the vertical beams on all sides. This is only done when the storage area is going to be completely enclosed. If there's no walls, that floor would end at the inner edge of the vertical beams. That's also why there are no hand rails except the stairs and at the back of the short track where the door for the hoist will be.

Looks like they will be putting the roof up soon. Also It looks like they are moving dirt around to prepare for pouring concrete. 48 Days to go!

A note about the station storage bins...

I did find out that although we will have them on the platform, they are not the big bins you're used to on other rides.

They are still in design, so I don't have specific details, but they will be capable of holding smaller items only (think shoes, keys, small bag, etc.). Guests will be alerted of this at the entrance.

Im assuming they will be similar to MaxAir's storage bins, small places to store shoes ect.

I like the way Wicked Twister is set-up. The only thing I'm worried about is with three trains, would they set it up the same way Raptor does it where they close the bin door so nobody steals your stuff?

Not to change the subject but Lake Erie is creeping in on the Gatekeeper site. The water is starting to get pretty close! That mountain is also gone.

I still don't understand this: if that wall was for protection why would it be placed so far away from the site? Maybe they just put it there to get eroded away?

That pile of sand still makes no sense in terms of preventive measures against the encroaching lake........and never will.

I asked about it at during the off season tour. It has nothing to do with protecting the ride. Simply relocated from other parts of the park where it blows all year long and dumped at the waters edge to rebuild the beach. Simple as that. Oh ya, and I was wrong. (<-won't see that very often so enjoy it)

When i worked at CP (a long time ago), they would push all the sand on the beach away from the water's edge in the fall to prevent erosion of the beach.
