Griffin Statue

Two part question:

1. does anyone know where the griffin statue from Iron Dragon is now? I was @ CP in may and couldn't see it as luminosity had just gone up.

2 Do you think it will somehow be incorporated into the line or entrance of Gatekeeper?

*personally I think that would be awesome, its always been one of my favorite CP statues, though I don't know any history behind it.

I think it would be a great addition to Gatekeeper even though I am not sure where it is currently located, any re-theming items Cedar Point uses is always great. I love how they can keep the historical items and reincorporate them in the modern era.

Yeah they're always recycling old stuff like the swan boats and wildcat cars for halloweekends. I think its a beautiful statue.

Or like the Pirates from the Pirate ride on Terror Island for Halloweekends... it may be kind of awkward this year with both pirates and dinosaurs.... haha

I think the Griffin Statue would be quite the statement though I am seeing it located near the end of the queue line just before you board the train. That would be awesome!

^^Terror Island is being renamed Cutthroat Cove and will be located in the Maverick infield. So no dinos!

Last I heard (Coastermania) the griffin statue was stored in a crate around Mean Streak. My first thought after seeing the logo for Gatekeeper, was of the statue. I'm sure we'll see it turn back up eventually. Gatekeeper seems like the logical spot.

Well I like the idea of gold griffon. I think it would look good on TOP of the station.

Speaking of things like statues...Yesterday I walked up to the fence to take shot shots of Disaster demo and right by the fence I saw a giraffe???Any clues to where it is from?

For years, it sat near the Park Operations office in Kiddy Kingdom / Kiddieland. Now they bring it out during HalloWeekends.

You can look out for it next time if you go through CarnEvil. It's right near the entrance arc (the entrance across from Gemini)

I saw the statue in question when we were escorted into the park for the photo shoot on Thursday. It is back in the maintenance area by Mean Streak and has been painted gold.
