I'm not sure if all of you know or not but Six Flags Magic Moutnain is officially moving their coaster Deja Vu to Six Flags New England for the 2012 season. Do you think this officially marks the end of the coaster wars, or do you think they may have ended a long time ago? Also, how do you see this affecting Cedar Point? I think its very interesting to see a park so interested in being the "coaster capital of world," remove a coaster.

That is very interesting....

Who cares about most coasters. Its quality not quantity. Even with that they could still beat us. They have different styles then us. We don't have coasters likie, Tatsu, X2, Green Lantern, Terminator,Scream.

They don't have M Froce, Maverick, Dragster, W, Twister, Magnum

I really do like disaster transport. With good themeing it has potential to be a very good ride. Also fix the roof and make it not so ugly

It has no potential. The area it sits on has potential. Ouimet has potential. But DT has no potential. :)

Well anyway I think that SFMM is showing that the coaster wars are indeed over. I doubt they'll see a new one for a few years and with cedar point probably/hopefully getting a new coaster in 2013, they'll re gain the crown of most roller coasters. While quality over quantity is always better, having the most coasters is also a great marketing campaign

Ugh... nobody in SoCal cares about what some park in Ohio is doing any more than people in Ohio care about the other park 3,000 miles away. There is no war. There never was. Ask a random guest at CP if Dragster is the tallest roller coaster in the world and they'll say yes. No one cares.

Robin Innes seemed to care enough about it to argue that SFMM only had 17 coasters...

And to add to that, the same random guest will also say that Millennium Force is the second tallest, Wicked Twister came from Six Flags/Geauga Lake after it closed, Gemini is a wooden coaster, and Magnum is still sinking...

They just want to have fun.

I never even knew that SFMM existed until I joined this sight. I think it is nice to have bragging rights on the most coasters but that is all it really amounts to. On a side note I did hear someone just last week give testimony while at the park that Wicked Twister came from Geauga Lake. I thought about correcting him for about 2 seconds and then realized it was not worth my time. I hear so many crazy comments throughout the season that leave me shaking my head.

No coaster will ever be too fast or too tall!

Most of the stories involving CP and SFMM have been created by the media. CP is usually more than happy to comment on them as it gives them some free press.

This isn't the coaster boom of the 1990s and early 2000s anymore. And patrons of each park don't care or even know about who has or had the most.

Here is an interesting topic, though: Do you think there will ever be another "coaster wars?" Magnum arguably started the "wars." If there were to be another battle what do you think would set it off? New elements? Trains? Height? Speed? Special Effects?

With the price of these bad boys climbing, I just don't see it.

I would say elements. They've gone as high as you can safely go and the fastest is like 150mph. I can't Imagine the forces on ur body if u go higher than that.

New elements can always be done. I really love b&m's new trains they useed on diamondback intimidator and behemoth. There's nothing around you and there's such a great feeling of being in the open with that little lap bar with no seat belt. Cedar point needs a coaster with those trains.

I agree with Walt; stop any 10 people on the midway in either Sandusky or Valencia and I would lay odds that no more than three even knows of the others existence, let alone its coaster count. "Most roller coasters anywhere!" is a nice marketing tag, but since both CP and CFMM will still be marketing to the exact same audience regardless of how many roller coasters they have, the title is largely irrelevant.

The following are titles I would much rather have:
“Park with the best food”
“Park with the best customer service”
“Best park for families”
“Best value park in the country”
“Park with the best craft beer selection”

Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."
