You have at least 2 months to find a printer and print out your paperwork. They WILL make you go back home if you don't have the correct paperwork or fail to meet proper grooming guidelines. There is a list of stuff you'll need with you in order to process in at HR.

They will change the status soon, then you will be able to access the paperwork. Should take around 48 hours, or 2 business days.

yes...they will turn you away if you don't have the paperwork printed out yourself. This started last year and I personally don't agree with it. If its an application or any sort of WORK paperwork then WORK should provide or print it. Its not like cp doesn't know how to print things as they've done it in the past. So basically if its your first time working at cp you have to 1. spend 'money' printing out paperwork in order to work there and 2. if you plan on housing there is a deposit right from the get go. Almost makes ya feel like you have to pay for the privilege to work at cp. /end rant

and no I've never personally had issue with any of the aforementioned topics just think its unfair to others (then again..looking at it objectively...perhaps it weeds out the less than desirable employees which I would think would be a sneaky way to get past any sort of EOE issues (equal opportunity employer)

Don't have a public library in your hometown / neighborhood?

They let employees print out all the paperwork, so that we can complete it before we get there. This way, we don't spend literally all day at HR. I remember (before we could print the paperwork ourselves) when it took several hours JUST at HR. If everyone does the paperwork (correctly), processing in is quicker and smoother for everyone involved.

Prior to the pre-completed paperwork, it wasn't uncommon to wait in line 6+ hours at HR. It sounds like the new requirements have fixed that, which is a very good thing. That said, I do agree with Excessive that any kind of work related materials like that really ought to be provided by the employer, although that's kind of nit-picky given the relatively low cost and easy access for most people.

I would rather pay the $.25 to print off all of the paperwork if it means I can be in and out in 20 minutes rather than stand in line for 6 hours. I don't believe it's a way to get employees to pay for paper, I believe it's a way to make the process at HR go a lot quicker.
