Extended Hours This Sunday 10/11

Does anyone know why the park is open from 10 to 10 this Sunday instead of 11 to 8 it is open every other Sunday in Hallow Weekends? I was thinking about taking the kids for the their second Sunday HW trip this year but seeing the extended hours makes me think it could be packed for a big event. So is there an event that I can't find any information on or is the second Sunday in October just a historically busy day?

Columbus Day may not be a universal day off, but it's enough to warrant the extended hours.

Ok thanks guys. If it doesn't rain this Sunday I'll let you know how it was. If it does rain I'll be parked on the couch watching football.

Sunday will be my only trip to the park this year. I'm praying it's not packed.

Columbus Day weekend is always one of the busiest if not the busiest weekend of the year.

Gonna be buisy for sure. You should invest in a flash pass.....oh wait.....:(

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Yes the scare zones are going to be open. I will be braving the crowds on Saturday. I'll post a review probably Sunday or Monday which will include a review on the Estate Banquet.

Last year the scare zones opened an hour early so that it was 3 hours, I hope they do the same this year, it seems like a waste of time for the screamsters to get decked out for only 2 hours.

It's also Thanksgiving on Monday Oct 12, in Canada. Quite a few Canucks come down for the weekend.

I was there last year Columbus Day, it was pretty busy. The warm weather helped out.

I have a few questions. How busy was CP today? How long were the TOP COASTERS and Thrill Rides? Did the Haunted Houses have a Long Wait?

By looking at the webcan, the parking lot looked pretty full.

Cedar point was very busy on Saturday. We waited about an hour and forty mins for Maverick. Millenium Force was a two hour wait when we checked it out. A lot of the other rides were a good hour wait as well. The haunted house lines were long as well. We got in line for Happy Jacks about half an hour before it opened and were one of the first groups in. The que filled before it was even open, and by the time we came out the line stretched towards Maxair. We did G.A.'s Manor right after that and the line was shorter, but filled up the que line as well before not to long. We probably waited 30-45 mins for that one, but as I said, the line got much longer.

The best gauge of how busy the park is, isn't how long the lines are for the top rides, but how long they are for the lower tier rides. When Iron Dragon, Gemini and Wildcat are incurring 1.5 hour waits, it is busy.

This weekend looked like a good one for the park, weather-wise and crowd-wise. Too bad I had plans to go on Friday and couldn't make the other two days. I checked the webcam that night, and it looked like pure misery with all the rain. I saw a few brave souls wandering around, and wonder what there was for them to do. I have plans to go this Friday with some friends, but the forecast doesn't look friendly as of now.

Sunday was much less crowded then I thought it would be. TTD was touch and go the whole day (big surprise) but once the outdoor haunts opened MF was only 20 minutes, Maverick 45 min and pretty much everything else was a walk on. I did 48 rides/shows/haunts.
