Proposal Ideas

I saw on the CP website the guy getting their picture drawn of him popping the question. I loved the idea and have given serious thought to doing it that way. I also thought of having one of those wooden signs made with "The Gainors" (my last name) made and picking it up later in the day and proposing when we bought it. And there's the ever present idea of lifting up my shirt and writing "Marry Me" on my undershirt during the picture on MF so when we went to see our picture it would be there, but i feel like thats too risky and the picture might not come out right.

Any opinions or any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think you should do the MF picture, it'd be cute, hey and if it doesnt come out the first time, ride it again :)

So stoked for 2010 :]

I am thinking about doing this also. I was thinking about Famous Daves as a location, but I have never been inside. My girlfriend loves ribs, and I thought this my work, but I have never been inside. Does anyone know if the restaurant is a quet enough setting for this purpose, or is it a party type restaurant like TGI Friday's?

I would not recommend Famous Daves for a proposal location. It is crowded at times and noisy just like Fridays.
Sorry, I have no ideas for proposals to compensate the doubt of Famous Daves.

You could propose on the beach (by WT, or even Magnum). It would be cool to have the wooden sign made and have it there when you do pop the question. But a sign is harder to conceal than a ring. :)

We had a guy propose on Ripcord last fall. He had the ring tied around his wrist with fishing line and held it in his hand and proposed as they were being winched up. Of course, he let us know what he was doing ahead of time, which is always a good idea. Especially since the video people zoom out for an "overall view" during the winch up unless they know to keep it zoomed in for the occasion.

I think it was in '06 when a guy proposed to his wife on Rip Cord, but instead of doing the talking, he had a Rip Cord employee say everything over the P.A. as they were being winched up. It was pretty cool, she said yes!

One time, I saw in Live E that the unsuspecting girl was called up on stage as the "Special Guest" for the Garter Show... Then the guy came on stage and proposed on stage during the show...

I have also heard of proposing at the top of the Giant Wheel...

Or you can be like me, and propose right when the Sneak Peeks people try to take a picture of you... it captures the moment perfectly :)

Wow, that's awesome. The only thing that would have been better would be if Magnum's train was crossing in the background!

My husband proposed to me on the Big Wheel, it was very romantic ;)

or maybe, and this just came to me

Go on the little boats where the captains tell the jokes and see if you can get one of them to "help", it could be hilarious!

Last year during Halloweekends I proposed to my girlfriend on stage during the live show outside in front of the big screen. I had it all set up with CP to help me out. I believe it was Robin Innis who helped me set it up. The band was to call me up after their second song. I had my girlfriend believing that we were in a drawing to win season passes for '09. Needless to say I was very nervous, but when they called my name I went on stage then called her up and proposed. I'm happy to say we have been married for a little over a month now.

I was going to try this at Disney, but it may work with a CP costumed character (they still do the Snoopy dress-up thing, right?). Ask one of them to pose for pictures with the two of you and have them playfully stage you in different poses for a couple of pictures, then direct you to pose as if you're proposing. At this point you say you don't have a ring. In response, the character acts exasperated and hands you the engagement ring, and you propose.
