Maverick Lights

I just noticed this on Thursday on my first ride of the season. Most of the lights on Maverick's first hill were missing and had electrical tape over the pipes were they were attached. It wasn't just the first hill, but some of the of the lights on the first break run also.

Are they gone for good or getting replaced?

Probably replaced. Cedar Point is pretty bad with theming but there not bad enough to leave lights burned out on a lift hill.

Have you seen some of the other rides lately?

Though from what I'm told the lights in question (Power Tower, MF) are not a simple bulb change.

^Yes MF and PT have complicated smart lights. If he is talking about the lights going up the lifthill of Maverick then those are just some regular lightbulbs.

Yea, I meant the lights on the lift hill.

It's not just the bulb, but the hole fixture was missing on most of them. I'll try to find a pic to show it.

As much as I would like to see the Pens at least put up a fight, the clinic the Wings are putting on should be taped and replayed at hockey camps all summer.

Well, once Pittsburgh gets done with those tapes, you mean.

Nah, they're too busy whining about the officials (because the officials have waved off SO many Pittsburgh goals) to bother watching the tapes.

Can we please get back on topic. We were talking about ride lights...Maverick's in general.

I heard Cedar Point put something extra special in their drinks this year. Maybe you drank the water in the park and noticed some of the special side effects that come along with...consuming LSD.

I didn't want to start a new topic so I am going to put this in this one since its about theming going bye bye..

I was there 2 days last week and the first day only one water bomb was working. The 2nd day there was only 2 working. Isn't there supposed to be 4? I have a feeling this is going to end up like every other time CP tries to theme a ride...

Ok well the I think the lighting is back up on the hill on Maverick and I also did notice the water bombs messed up. I'm sure it is hard to fix those though with the pond filled. I think they should of just put a fountain there because water bombs are kind of hard to handle and the water bombs are making the pond part of Maverick look really greasy.

Not to mention the track on Maverick looks really greasy in that area.

#1 - One of the water bombs is actually missing from the pond and another is not functioning.

#2 - The track is dirty from the water spray of the water bombs, it's not grease.

#3 - I'm not sure if the fixtures on Maverick were actually missing or not but on Sunday evening there were at least 4 or 5 lights on the lift hill that were out.

How do they expect Maverick to make the Top Ten Coasters next year if half of the theming isdead or burnt out?

Because its a great ride regardless of the lights.

I know that I am a person who likes to ride the coaster in the day time, but I would like to see the lights being worked on through the whole park. I love how cool they look when they are working! It adds to the happy feeling I get whe I am at the park.
