New Lumber on Point

There are several pallets of treated lumber in the Soak City lot over by the campgrounds. Looks like 2x4's and 4x4's or close. Certainly not enough to build a ride though.

Is it unusual to store general repair lumber out in the open parking lot - or is this the sign of a staging ground?

I would say it is not unusual.

So pre-fab wood wouldn't come in a pallet, right?!?

There's usually always new lumber sitting around somewhere on Point this time of the year. Its just replacement lumber for either Blue Streak, Gemini, Mean Streak, CCMR, or a wooden structure in the park.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

When we were there last weekend we saw new lumber under Gemini. My thought is the new lumber will be used to replace existing lumber that may be showing signs of aging.

It's not for a ride. Can we kill this thread before all the 12 year olds get excited and think they know everything and say that it's for a ride...when it's not.

I can see the press release now: "Coming in 2008 to Cedar Point - a new fence. But hey, it could be worse, we could be closing down the park." :)

Perhaps it's going to be used as kindling to start the bonfire under Mean Streak.

I heard it was going to be used to board up all the windows in the hotels, due to the approaching hurricane.

There was tons of wood in the SC parking lot back before the 06' season started. No big deal, it's usually used to replace old wood on MS, CCMR, Blue Streak, and Gemini.

Actually, Kinzel told me that the wood is for the new fence and que-line going around Longhorn.

If you're asking what Longhorn is, it's Texas Twister under new identity. ;)

They cut that material up, slap some tomato sauce on it, some cheese, and there you have your CP pizza.
