Ride Manuals

Not too long ago me and some friends went on one of many Cedar Point trips for the summer and afterwards were hungry so we stopped in at the Taco Bell/LJS on 250. While we were eating we noticed a group of employees talking over a ride manual. They turned out to be looking at the Maverick manual, talking about situations, quizzing each other, etc. I thought it would be really cool to have that manual for some reason so I thought about swiping it and running away....Long story short, I didn't.

I was just wondering if there is any way to get your hands on copies of those ride manuals. I would really be interested in having one for Maverick or Top Thrill Dragster (my favorite). If so, I think that would be kinda cool to have...

Any idea?

Technically the manuals aren't supposed to leave the CP property. A lot of people end up swooping them though. I know that occasionally a couple pop up on eBay. If CP doesn't catch it before that, you should be able to get one that way.

Dang, now that's some ultimate reading material. The closest thing I've gotten on Ebay was an Employee Handbook. Anyone selling? :-P

You'd be suprised at how many people asked me for my KP Emp Handbook and such.

Honestly, these things are pretty boring. They might help you understand opening or closing procedures or things like what a setup is on Magnum, but there isn't much excitement in there. And the font that CP uses looks like a typewriter. Of course this is CP - maybe they really did use a typewriter.

I have a Ripcord one from 2002. That one is a bit more interesting because it has an appendix that has a page for each "incident" that has happened with Skycoasters, and the investigation of each.

I didn't even mean to take the manual. I found it in one of my boxes when I got home from the park for the summer.

I second what Matt said. The manuals are fairly boring, but they do spell out all of the procedures, etc. for the ride.

I always thought about photo-copying mine... Never did though. Now I want mine back! Sure they are sort-of boring, but whenever there is something your not supposed to have; you want it of course!!

I had a friend that was REALLY upset because it started to rain and he was mad because the ride hosts would not let guests in the queues load and wait in the load platform to avoid the downpour. I was a dork and looked up the proper answer and let him know! ;)

It can be useful at times! :)
