A lot of us have been wondering if the villain rollercoaster would be "refurbished" like stated in the EXT flyer. I e-mailed the park and got this response

You are correct. The villain roller coaster is being refurbished as we speak. You should notice a difference this summer.

What made you think it wouldn't be?

There were a few people on here that posted pictures of them in the process of re-tracking the ride. Did you think they were going to get 1/2 way done and say screw it, lets just put the old track back on?

It will be interesting to see if they re-track the entire course, or approach it on a third per season basis, as SF did with RWB. If Villain '07 is, say, twice as ride-able as its previous incarnation, it will go a long way toward making up for ripping out X-Flight and SV.

Heck, I would say that the return of Le Villian is well worth Superman and X-Flight. IMHO

And no i'm not being sarcastic.

There has been no "official" confimation of Villain being fix that I know of. I think we pretty much know that the Trick Track is gone (thank you) but I dont think Villain will see a full re-tracking this offseason. It's too bad we will have to suffer another year of getting beat up but as they say there is always 08!

Although he was not specific about what work was exactly being done, Mr. Hildabrandt did say at EastCoaster that Villian was getting some TLC and would be a much smoother ride this year.

I recived another email from Edwards and he said

"As for The Villain, yes, as a part of its annual winter maintenance program, some of the coaster’s track is getting refurbished. It will definitely help make Villain more enjoyable and smoother."

'Some of the coasters track".

I doubt that there will be a major differance this year.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

^ Which considering my Maxx Plus Pass and a mere 30 minute drive, should not be a problem.

The chiropractors in Geagua county are going to be very dissapointed with this news. If Villian becomes tolerable once again, is it possible that Geauga Lake will have a better wood collection than it's cousin to the northwest? I think so...

I think I'd go as far as saying that GL has a better collection of wood coasters than it's cousin to the northwest, even without the addition of a better Villain.

Neither park compares with Holiday World, though. :)

Spehn mentioned to me last summer that Villain would indeed get the love it needed this winter. I'm pretty sure that has been the plan for awhile.

I'm really looking foward to riding Villian this year. In fact, I havent been there since 2002. So it's going to be exciting visiting the park in general! :)

I wish I could share in your enthusiasm. It's going to be hard the first few times, driving up Rt. 43 and seeing empty air where two great creatures once loomed.

I don't see why it would be hard without X-Flight and SV. I hardly ever rode them when I had a season pass before. Both coasters looked so stupid in that corner of the park. Everything appeared all cluttered up. They can dismantle Head Spin/Mind Eraser while they're at it.

Maybe some new picnic pavilions will be constructed and guests will be allowed to bring lunches into the park again. I liked the atmosphere a lot prior to 2000.
