Hmmm, I wonder why they painted the lift hill black. ;)

EDIT- I guess I should have put the smiley. *** Edited 10/22/2006 6:05:01 PM UTC by davey420***

It's a black and white photo. I had trouble with the white balance in that picture, so I went with the artistic approach.

Since you got a construction tour, can you shed any light on what the funky "bike rack" pieces of track are for? Kicker wheels, etc...

Thanks for the pics. They look great!

Come on Tim, we already figured that out a long time ago. They're for retractable brakes.:)

The most interesting thing to me is that the transfer doesn't line up right. That piece of track appears to be too long. That's strange because the supports are all interconnected, so either they're the wrong size or the track is.

You cant really see it in the pics. You need to see it in person.

These are terrific shots. We should all enjoy being able to see the finished, exposed track while we can... It won't be that long in the grand scheme of things before a good deal of the circuit will be forever hidden by tunnels and canyons. Not that I'm complaining. :)

Maverick will look really good when they start adding the theming, the trains arrive, and the landscaping crew comes to town. By time May rolls around we wont know that White Water Landing even was there. Well except for the station. I was able to see the whole circuit on that crazy saturday that I went to. Man everything that day had a wait...it was crazy.

After seeing that B&W photo, I REALLY wish Maverick was black/silver. Looks much better IMO.

Don't think about it too much. Thinking about all the other things that are wrong will make your head spin. ;)

I couldn't tell you if it was a design error, fabrication error, or assembly error. I can tell that it would be an easy fix with a cutting torch and a grinder. Hell, I could easily fix that problem myself.

The T's posted some pictures from the top of the lift on the blog. Plus there's more in the Maverick Gallery.

Awesome pictures. I wondered if that was them yesterday when I looked at the webcam. I saw two people at the top of the lift hill.
