Hey just wondering if there are any coasters out there that already have a lift and a launch or so they say, "two lauches" in one coaster? If not, wouldn't that be a record? Please inform.

California Screamin' at Disney's California Adventure is very similar to Maverick in technology.

Honestly, give the records thing a rest. Please?

The thing doesn't break any records, and pointing out the most ridiculous little things and saying "what about this is it a record???" isn't going to change that.

Thanks Gomez, I think that California Screamin is a good point but is kind of like launching into the hill and not at separate points of the ride. What do you think?
UHHH Exit, nobody is trying to change anything! Still haven't answered the question...Here, I will rephrase... Is Maverick the First of its kind to have a lift hill and a launch at two different points of the ride?...simple question. I haven't been able to find any that has both of these elements at two separate points of the ride. I should have not said "record" but, "First of its kind" like the twisted horseshoe element. I really could care less if it is a record breaker it looks fun anyway. Please, can someone else out there from a less critical stand point inform us. *** Edited 9/15/2006 2:21:29 AM UTC by Zbusta*** *** Edited 9/15/2006 2:23:43 AM UTC by Zbusta***

I even asked nicely, and you still get all pissy about it.

Yeah, it is at different points on the ride on screamin. The launch comes first, then the LIM lift hill is mid-ride.

Since we're back on the Calif Screamin' topic again, haven't people said that its an LSM coaster? If that was the case, why are there brakes on the side of the first hill? If they really were LSMs (and not LIMs), there would be no need for secondary brakes. Correct?

I think it's just for safty, it did crash a while back...

Anyway, PowderKeg: A Blast into the Wilderness http://www.rcdb.com/id1903.htm has both a launch and a lift hill, a chain lift hill...

So does Atlantis Adventure, the Aquatrax!

I bet you that is what CP is really building and the Maverick train renderings are fake! ;)

Speed at the Sahara has 2 launch segments, that fire a total of 3 times. The second set of LIMS fire after the loop on the way to the vertical, and before the loop on the way back to the station.

Hall, if the power goes out, there is nothing to keep that train on the hill, it will roll backwards. The brakes are there, I believe, as an anti-rollback. I think Maverick will keep an open block at the base of the hill, the train will roll back, hit the last kicker and come to a stop.

Does maverick have the steepest drop of any coaster? If so, I think that is the only record being broke.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Mystery Mine at Dollywood is a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter with a 95 degree first drop. I don't know if any have gone beyond this yet. So, Maverick may be tying a record, but its not breaking any.

RCDB used to have Cali' Screamin' listed as LSM, but it's LIM. They've since corrected their mistake.

Speed at the Sahara, I've always thought had 3 sets of LIMs. Launch from station, another set mid-course, and the ones that give it a little boost up the spike. I could be wrong, and I can't check RCDB right now, either. Don't want more than one "play around" site to be linked back to my browser :).

Crazy Horse, No matter how hard anyone tries, there's no records to be found for Maverick. There's a couple of the Gerslauer Eurofighters built in Europe already with 95* drops, and as already mentioned, Dollywood's.

Nah. not at all.

For the 100,000th time: There are not records to be broken by this ride.
