"16" Coasters?

JokeyJerk

Ok, I know there are 16 coasters and this makes the park very appealing, but how many could actually qualify as decent coasters. This is totally opinionated but i still want some factual feedback. Remember, 2 are kiddie coasters, and cedar creek mine ride is weak i heard. THIS IS MY FIRST POST HERE! Keep in mind ive never been to the park and plan on going in september. My other option is going to a NY Yankees game in New York.

On CCMR ive noticed some harder turns, not so fast or many drops but you get thrown to the the side a lot. But there are 16-2=14 decent coasters in my opinion, though the ones you have to hit are... Raptor, Mantis, Wicked Twister, Millennium Force, and TTD. I usualy hit all of the steal coasters, I am not a fan of the wooden ones. But they are still thrilling and fun. If you ever make it to CP have fun.

You don't say?

There's something for everybody. If you're complaining that only 13 of the 16 coasters are "big", you should check yo'self.

Magnum XL-200 - More Decentest Coaster
Millennium Force - Decentest Coaster
Raptor - Decent coaster
Wicked Twister - More Gooder coaster
Top Thrill Dragster - Gooder Coaster
Gemini - Good Coaster
Mean Streak - Less than Gooder but still not bad coaster
Mantis - Not Bad coaster

So at least half are world class coasters.

Well, Jerk...I guess it depends on what prism you look through.

For my children, the Snoopy coaster or Jr. Gemini would be the best coasters in the world. As they grow older I bet they will highly anticipate their first rides on Iron Dragon, CCMR and Disaster Transport. They will get several summers of joy out of those.

Down the road they will work up the guts (and the height) to get on Magnum, Raptor, Corkscrew, Blue Streak, Mean Streak, Wicked Twister, Mantis, etc.

And, some day...sooner than I would like...they will be getting in line for Dragster and MF looking back at Jr. Gemini and Snoopy with fond memories of youth.

But, if there was only Dragster and MF then I suspect there is a good chance my children would never ride a coaster in their youth and would likely never be interested in getting on the two big boys.

Got it?

Umm Big Chief, I'm going to turn 17 in September. You know, just to clarify things.

Yes, but his point is that without the smaller "weak" coasters, most of us would not have become the coaster junkies we now are.

haha you're old :p

I still don't get what age has to do with anything online. I've seen 14 year olds who conduct themselves fine and use proper grammar. I've seen 40 year olds who come across as being about 9.

Yes, but both of those groups are the minority of their age category.

Each of Cedar Point's rides has an audience. People who disregard anything that doesn't personally appeal to them have a narrow point of view.

Don't feel bad Loopy, I'm 39 creeping up quickly on 40.

Chief Wahoo was right on the money, if it wasn't for the smaller coasters to ride when we are young we would never develop into the coaster fanatics we all turned into.

My first ride on a full sized coaster was Gemini when it first opened a very long time ago.

I remember that too Loopy, as well as the wild mouse.

How about the Wildcat and Jack Rabbit at Idora Park in Youngstown?

I'm still trying to find out the audience that actually enjoys the Red Baron. Over 48, under 54(IIRC), and its boring.

Jokey,

My post was sincere. As for the abbreviation of your screen name...if you choose to call yourself JokeyJerk it is safe to say that your going to get a nickname.

JokeyJerk,

If it's your first time to the Point then I wouldn't try to skip one of them.

Everyone lists Raptor, MF, and Dragster; but Magnum, Gemini, and the Wildcat are all among my favorites. Magnum still rates very high on most coaster riders lists. All of the coasters at CP (in fact nearly every coaster) has something to offer, and if one doesn't have the oppotunity very often they should try to get on all of them.
