Could be a number of things.. They could be working on the ride, they could be replacing something electrical, they could be tearing the ride down.

I was just wondering if thye were doing some more welding on it. There was a basket thing that someone could go up in that they could hook up to the crane sitting next to it.

I saw the crane yesterday and there were tracks that went up to the back spike... and that yellow box the crane raises up like we have seen before.

My guess it looked like some kind of welding stuff inside the box but who knows.

Maybe they are adding more support to the spikes. They shake a lot on the back one. (Left one facing while facing the beach)

I don't think this is anything more than a maintenance thing. You see lifts like this by MF and TTD all the time.

If you think WT sways badly, have you taken a look at TTD's pull up to the tower.

Yes WT is supposed to sway. If it did not it would snap.

Think about a piece of wood, if you try to snap it in half when it is dry it breaks easily, now if you try that on a wet or "green" piece of wood it would bend.

The same thinking applies to steel, if it is soft it is more ductile allowing to bend, if it is a hardend piece of steel although it may be stronger it is easily cracked or broken when not supported under great stress.

The park is constantly doing "check-up" maintenance work. The same thing has recently been being done on Millennium.

I was there on the 10th and saw the basket and the crane. I also saw fresh torque check marks on the supports. My guess is it was just routine torque checking/tightening of the nuts and bolts.

Also, did you know they torque the Main Support nuts to 1650 ft lbs? that a very large number...

I did see one fresh weld at the bottom of one of the supports but it looked like a very very small weld.

I was there on the 6th and in the later part of the day it was closed and the maintenence workers kept pointing up at the back spike and talking.
