Aquatrax

I don't like that Aquatrax. It looks generic.

Even though this is looking like an aquatrax, and would make sense replacing a water ride with a water ride, I still wonder...are they trying to attract more guests? I just dont see how an aquatrax can cut it, unless there is some serous theming going on ;)

Hey John, am I the only one who's sick of all the whining about Aquatrax, or are you hatin' it too?

I don't see why one design has to "suck" for another one to be good. I like the aquatrax (I've never ridden it, so I can't make judgement, just like almost everyone here) because it is unique but that doesn't mean a Goliath like coaster would suck. There is only the one Aquatrax, and this could be very different both in layout and elements. Not to mention it would be much more family friendly than a 270 foot, 8 inversioned, twisting, spinning speed monster.

I was looking at the picture from the 18th, and do the supports seem to be too low to the ground to allow for the train to clear it safely?

Whatever it is, we all know that cedarpoint comes out with the best of the best of everything. I find it hard to believe that this ride will be any diffrent. Cedar Point is a Trend setter, not a follower. If it is like Goliath, it will be better in some unique way. if it is like atlantis, it will be better in some unique way.

I dont remember if if it was in this thread, but someone mentioned that one of the footers was pointing in the direction going out of the construstion area. There was a small wooded area. is that where the AC's are at? Now that would be cool if the ride went over the walk way and dove into the trees and Came back out. Either way it goes, we could be ten days out from hearing what this ride is going to be.

If it is small, Props to cedar point for geting started early and possible getting the bugs worked out.

I'll pretty much be happy with anything they build as long as I don't come off soaked.

I especially love low-lying high-banked turns. They're some of my favorite parts of MF, and I've been looking forward to a coaster with more of them for a while.

It doesnt look like there are enough footers in a row to have a 235ft lift hill. Unless it is a tilt coaster. A tilt coaster has an elevator- like lift hill and when you get to the top you are looking down over 300ft and there are none so far in exsistence. Just a thought.

I'm pretty sure it's an Aquatrax because what we've seen so far is completely consistent with one. This probably won't be anywhere near the top in the thrill department, but I am betting that this will have its fair share of theming. I'll be interested to see how CP does this and just how elaborate it is.

What we've seen is also consistent with an Intamin hyper twister.

And an Intamin LIM launched coaster.

And an Intamin Giga coaster

And an Intamin coaster.

Tilt coasters are definitely a thought...It's a new idea/concept which may be why they started so early.

Don't bash me for this (for some of you guys, it's a hobby) I'm just taking an idea and trying to find some explanation for it from the definite information we already know ( like how early they've started construction)!!!

As far as I know, Intamin doesn't have even a prototype tilt coaster. So that pretty much eliminates the idea there. After TTD (and the bug disaster that its been) I doubt Cedar Point will be installing any prototype rides in the near future. They're going to want to see a ride (especially a revolutionary concept like a tilt coaster) installed in several parks and proof that a design really works before they go getting one themselves.

I would like to see the second one from the top on the right. Just a 150-250 coaster with lots of airtime and something unique. I would like to see a drop like Expedition G-force but then Holidaypark fanyboys would hate CP like most of us hate SF. ;)

FORCE Fanatic 07-

I'm with you: I'm hoping for a bigger & better Goliath-type roller coaster. And those small supports on P2007 remind me of the small supports on the Goliath...as a steep hill. I think it's going to be launched up & go into a steep, banked turn.
