Yeah, actually, everything is really zippy today. Haven't really been over to Coasterbuzz for any amount of time to see how it's doing, but PB is really quick today.

I've never had a problem with the speed on this site. In fact, I feel Pointbuzz.com is faster than Cedarpoint.com. Any reason for that?

Not to sound mean but I can't see Pointbuzz getting as many hits as Cedar Point, am I wrong?

I'm sure they get more at the official site, of course. I don't know what that has to do with "sounding mean." But that said, PB does a pretty high traffic load in terms of Internet sites in general.

Yeah, 300MB of logs a day is pretty high. You're not putting through traffic of a portal or anything, but for a niche site that has to do with something very specific(and isn't about a hot actress or singer), that's quite good.

I still have the problem usually once or twice a day. May be the cache, may be Insight since they've been doing upgrades for the past month, I just can't be sure. It seems to happen mainly here on PB and at RCPro, so I'm guessing it's something to do with my box or Insight. Though my downloads and everything else are as speedy as always.

BTW, Insight Broadband usually clocks in at T1, sometimes T2 if I'm having a good day. :) *** Edited 6/13/2006 2:53:45 AM UTC by BlueStreak64***

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

THE TERMINATOR!

Really, what's a T2?

T1, T2, T3? Or does T2 not exist for some odd reason? I was always under the impression that there was a T2. I mean logically it makes sense, of course, computer programers and others like them don't seem to like logic too much. ;)

It would just be called a fractional T-3 I'd think.

Maybe it's just my connection the past couple of days, but I've noticed some slowness periodically around here again during the day.

I didn't think it was. I also noticed some slowness last night, but that might have been backup related.

Ya, it's still happening here too.

Kinda funny that it just happened when I tried to view this thread. :)

It may be the downloads Jeff's storm HD vid is generating. That is just a stupid guess with no back up info on my part.

Jeff, I thought I'd tell you that whenever I get a "waiting for Pointbuzz" I try to click over to Coasterbuzz, and I get a "waiting for Coasterbuzz" there. It seems like it can't be either one of these sites then that is causing the problems.

Jeff should purchase an uber fast server and co-locate it in our datacenter. ;)

Yeah, with all my extra money. :)

There are scalability issues in the sites. I know it, I want to fix it, it requires rewriting a lot of code. If I didn't have a day job (and God knows I think every day about quitting it), I'd have plenty of time.
