6 trains this year

I just read the news article on Virtual Midway and according to the park they plan on running 6 trains later this year as the weather warms up.Alot more work must have been done then just the hydraulics and the catch car.
Now that being said will adding the 6th train help or hurt capacity? Hmmm this could get interestingbut then again maybe not.
1 more day till opening.:).

Speaking of the 6th train, I wonder where it is currently being stored. Comparing the webcam views of the station and the new 360 foot level view, there are only 5 trains on the track and no trains on the storage tracks....Hmmmmm.....where's #6?

From what I can see on the 3 Dragster cams off the CP site, I dunno where the heck it actually is... I highly doubt it is on the track running but you never know. If someone wants to let us know later today maybe orI am going Sunday or next Saturday.

Sorry to bring back an old topic but I thought it was better than making a new one.

When I got into the park this morning I noticed the red train sitting on the transfer. One of the crew members said they put it on last night/early this morning. So all six trains are now on.

Very cool. But I always thought Dragster ran better with only 5 trains. It seemed like with 6 trains, there was always 1 train sitting idle on the blocks, basically wasting space. Maybe with the quicker reset and launch intervals Dave was talking about in the other thread, the 6 train operation will be more efficient this year.

Speaking of an engine being put on, I saw a mold like thing near the transfer tracks that was shaped like an engine. I'm not saying anything else about it because everyone will probably rip on me.

Wooo 6th train. Though, Wasn't the reason that they took the 6th train off was because they couldn't get the trains running in doubles? I assume they have not yet fixed the blocks to let the trains run in doubles. I hope this helps capacity and doesnt hurt it by stacking.

All I've heard is that the crew is excited to at least try a 6 train operation. No one's really sure if it'll help the capacity though, at least not until they try it.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Yes they are running 6 trains. The train on the transfer track is the green MF train.

I'm sure it has to have a lot of testing before it can be used for the public. I don't know what it all has to go through though.

Yea, It has to have a certain number of Tests as well as state approval to operate that train.

Hey there.
Amazing how I started this topic and it has come back to life (NOT).
Any way a question .I thought all 6 trains were certified last year to run.
Is Cedar Point required to certify all the trains every year.Or just when construction is done.
Sorry but now Im curious.Hopefully they can run 6 and boost capacity.
Now do something about the downtime(which I know they are trying )
thanks in advance

I just checked the webcam this morning and it appears as if all 6 trains have been transfered on to the main track. Perhaps they are going to give it a go today? I hope they can run it efficiently and not have to wind up to be a complete mess like last year.
