i was just about to get on the train for my 9th ride on dragster, but it went down for mechanical difficulties(no biggie there), it was down for about 40 mins so i sat in the front line waiting patiently, they then launched a test car at about 6:50, it made it to the start of the crest, but then rolled back, crowd cheered, so did i , first time seein a rollback, then it was wheeled back to the launch position, they then launched it again, this time it made it to the crest BUT THEN IT STOPPED...it stayed perched up at the top for about 10 seconds but then creeped backwards for the second rollback in a row...it was a great sight, and showed that yes it can get stuck at the top... they then loaded us on and i had a great ride... i then rode it one more time to top off the night....even the ride ops were in aww of its short stoppage at the top...one of the ops just looked at us and shook his head in disbelief

ive seen 3 rollbacks, durk, one with people, one with people that was slightly slow on the top, and one without people. and im sure people like Jeff and Magnum Dan cant even count the amount of times theyve seen rollbacks. and add another one to the Magnum Dan spotting counter...

That's not stuck. Stuck indicates it's up there and not going anywhere.

There were several trains that very slowly crept to the apex then rolled either back or over yesterday morning. All were empty. Those with water dummies or people either rolled back before the apex, or made it over.

So the conclusion is:

Dragster does not get stuck. Unless something is holding the train at that position, which is like 99% unlikely, then eventually, the train will go either way on its own, however, in what seems to be a majority of these cases, the train rolls backwards.....I'm assuming that there may be more weight towards the back of the train, or it may depend on where the train is perched on the apex....

I was also in line when it happened. It was fun to see the whole line gasp and point all at the same time. I got on about an hour later.

You wanna bet?

There are plenty of employees who can tell the story of watching workers have to ride to the top of the tower and push the train to get it moving again.

Rollback night tonight (Thursday). Three rollbacks that I saw all with riders between 5pm and 8pm. Some people have all the luck!

A rollback seems like it would be SO cool! I have seen pleanty of them...

Could you imagine if there were people on it when it was just sitting up there like that.... they would all be shifting their weight around to see if they could influence the direction of travel. At least I would be trying to if it were me.

i would influence the direction of travel backwards for sure. i would also try to get everyone to follow my lead. the only problem would be that it would be hard to move it being stapled in so much.

I would want everyone to stay still, so you could sit up there and enjoy the view. :)

Here is a rollback from 7-17-03. This was the second I witnessed in the span of about 10 minutes. The quality isn' t the greatest because I recorded it on my digital still camera, but you get the jist of it.

yeah if i was stuck at the top i would stay still for a little while, but then i would rock backwards, just so i could get launched again without waiting in line for another hour and a half:)
