I just got back from my 10th ride on TTD. what a crazy night it was.. I got in line around 10:45p.m. in the middle of the last maze. they were launching trains very quickly and thier were no breakdowns at all the rest of the night.. HOWEVER, We witnessed 11 Roll-backs in less than 1.5 hours all with people in the trains. at the very end of the line(I was on the second to last train) it was rolling back every 3 rd train.. it was crazy.. then there was a seat open in front of me and one of the maintance guys jumped on as the one ride op said our train may most likely roll back.. he looked excited saying it hadn't happened to him yet. we hoped and when we got to the top.. it slowed ,, slowed... slowweeddd and etched over the top and went on down.. it was the slowest over yet for me.. I thought we were going backward.. Out of all the rollbacks tonight I would say that half of them were stalled on top for at least 3 seconds before coming back down. and I swear 1 train. did competely stop for more that 5 seconds. people were counting.. it was crazy to see it.. but it happens... wow wish i had my video camera..

Damn! That would be so scary to roll backwards on TTD, now I have never rode it...and plan to next month, or September...I really dont wanna rollbackwards...I think I would like black out or something...

LaUnCh...420 feet, 120 mph, 4 seconds....brakes...breathe

sure...11 rollbacks in an hour an a half...as much as i want to believe that, i cant bring myself to..sorry...cant see that happening...they probbly would have closed the ride if that happened that many times, way before it reached 11 rollbacks

if i sound like a commplete a**hole, sorry..it may just be because im jealous

No, I was there too. 4th to the last train. They closed the line about 15 minutes before the park closed (about 5 minutes after I got in) because it wasn't working well, but they were determined to make sure everyone in line got to ride. What would, under normal circumstances, have been a 1 1/2 hour wait took 3 hours. We didn't get out until around 1:30 simply because it took 5 to 10 minutes to reset everything to relaunch the train. At one point 3 in a row rolled back (they each went over their second time, but three seperate trains didn't make it). And yes, it did (almost) stop at the top before it decided to roll slowly forward.

Call me a liar all you want, but nearly half of the launches didn't make it.

Ok why. would people of age make up a story of 11 rollbacks in one evening.. Believe what you want.

Jdoty and I were there and were part of it.. I got in line at 10:45 ish and ended up on the second to last train. and I counted 11 rollbacks while in line. it was like watching a boxing match hearing the line (crowd) hewwwss and ahhhhss it was funny..Next time your there ask the ride ops about last night they will tell you.. they were thinking it was not as funny though.. it was neat to see them all look to make sure the other trains was over the hill before they put their thumbs up... it was nutz

And yes.. most people in line thought they were gonna close it as 6 maintance men sat on the benches outside the ride just watching the show.. but they never even acted as if they were gonna close it..

this is not a made up story.. I am almost 30 years old for crying out loud.

the post "rollback heaven", it says one guy had two rollbacks in a row, i believe that 11 in 1 1/2 hour mostly becuase of that. i sure wish i was there. could anyone describe what a rollback feels like? is it similar to a huge wicked twister sensation?

Saturday night the park was very crowded. ask anyone who went that day.. and stayed till the END of the night. I know I saw some fellow coasterlovers in line with me.

I am liking those odds of a roll back. Hopefully it will be like that when I return.

Like I said before... If you roll back that's getting two rides for the wait-time of one.

I was there Saturday too and waited until after the park closed. Let me just tell you it was so much fun because it was crowded and everyone just wanted to ride it... with some of the rollbacks happening.
Maybe they will try 4 cars again.
im sure they probly will if it stays up continuously for a few days.

I was there last friday and watch it crest over and one way or another MANY times. Saw about 5 rollbacks that day..... lots do happen.
There were many many rollbacks today. Two or three in a row before one finally made it over. Sometime between 2 and 3 one did get stuck at the top for what seemed like at least one minute, maybe two. I happened to be walking down the midway right near Corkscrew and saw everyone was looking up. I looked up and saw it sitting there. The looks on people faces and the cheers when it finally rolled back were great.

Now we have something else to dream of, not just a rollback, but sitting at the top for 2 minutes, then rolling back. What I would give......

I guess if you want to see a rollback, go to the park on a day when the ride is scheduled to open later on. I have never failed to see a rollback on Top Thrill Dragster when it opens after closing. It's still a fun site to see, just never saw it happen with people on it.

Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!

I just got back from my 11th ride on TTD .. it was a weird night again.. I arrived around 8:40 p.m. On the way into the parking lot the first thing I saw was a rollback. once in the park. the maze was empty and they were not letting people in . then 30 minutes and 4 more rollbacks later they opened the line again and it ran very smoothly for about 30 50minutes. All trains barely making it while in line. A few flew over. then after I was off. and down the midway they announced it was closed again and they were getting ready to release a train with the manualy plug in .. (whatever that thing is) and that seemed to be the end of it. for the night.. but I was not there till they closed. they were not letting anyone in line at that point so I left.
