Plates

I was looking at Ohio's license plate website (www.oplates.com) and thought I'd see what stuff was available. A lot of TTD-type plates are taken, especially TTD 420! Anyone got any cool plate suggestions? ( 7 characters only!) Plus that site is fun when you're bored, man I have way too much time on my hands........

Well, TTD 420, at least here in MI, is similar to what is assigned for 'normal' plates. I know in MI you can't do that.

Perhaps 420FEET? or 120MPH? (well, you'd probably get weird looks with that one, depending on the car you drive ;))

Thing is.. due to it's hippie drug reference use.. almost anything using 420 in it will probably be flagged by the state as un-useable. Just because the computer says it's not being used doesn't mean you'll get it. It is subject to human review.

Yes, back in my dope smoking days I tried to get a plate with 420 on it and couldn't. They said that it was due to it's drug reference.

I can't believe I bought into that urban legend. Oh well, you learn something new everyday.

420 actually started in the home town of The Greatfull Dead when a group of people would meet at 4:20 to smoke. This eventually spread to magazines like High Times which spread it worldwide.

A common myth is that 420 is the police code for posession of marijuana but you can check for yourself all big city police codes and its not true anywhere. And April 20 is true but it that was started on the basis of the original 4:20 and not the other way around.

I know its a little off topic but I just thought you guys should know.

I've had CP license plates since 2000

As for the 420/drug reference I, for one, am glad I had no idea about that! My drug of choice growing up was horses,
and now (totally refusing to grow up) it's CP, and still horses too! :)

I, for another, have never heard 420 thing. My drug of choice growing up was a TV Show called Star Trek (hence my screen name & sig). As far as horses...Sorry, they make me sneeze and if I'm around them too long I need to seek medical attention. Allergies! I hate them!
