Top Thrill not big enough!

i know a lot of you people are thinking is he crazy saying the top thrill ain't big enough. but it isn't for me. think about not long after millenium force was built japan started building a coaster (steel dragon) bigger and faster. cedar point shouldn't have released any info about the top thrill dragster until may, because rumor has it other people are already thinking about going 450 to 500 feet and going 10mph faster and breaking cedar points record this year. honestly 420 feet is high but just not high enough. beleive me im just as excited as the next man but 25 million for a 30 second coaster thats records may be beat as early as this year. its a gamble but i hope it lives up the the hype. also 140mph would've been better but i can settle for 120mph. i hope cedar goes for the 500 or 600 feet mark in a couple of years. but for now i'll see you all in line for the Top Thrill Dragster the very first day and hour its open.

*LOCKING IN 3...2...*

Dragster was in the design phase for 3 years. ALL PARKS plan their coasters years ahead of time. You can just start building a new coaster to beat Dragster.

There is no Coaster even close to TTD, The tallest coasters in the world right now are Superman the Escape at SFMM and Tower of Terror at Dreamworld (I count them as rollercoaster, but the extra track doesn't count) but they only go 328.1 ft in the air(the trains). So the closest rollercoaster to TTD in height right now is more then 90 ft shorter then TTD! And for speed, the fast coaster is Doponpa at Fuji-Q Highlands with top speeds of 106.9 MPH and again TTD has this ride by 13 MPH. So to end this post, to all the people that are saying it’s to short, or it’s big enough, look at the stats I just posted, and how can you tell me it’s not big enough??

This record will be held by Cedar Point for 2-3 years. By that time they'll be ready to break 500 feet ;)

Paul Ruben told me that Doponpa speed can be launch to go faster than TTD. They just have to put a trim brake on it before the curve right after it hits the 125-130 it would be capable of doing

Ya, well Paul Ruben is a moron. With the tires on Doponpa, it can only go 120 mph, not the 125-130 that you say its capable. But if you Paul Ruben, its not your fault that he is wrong. I read this in a article from Popular Mechanics from some thime this last spring and it was on their website, but it has recently been removed.

Dragster will stay on top for a while I think. Not many parks can build that high up, or are willing to invest a great deal. Dragster is probably the cheapest way to reach over 400ft, and to get away with such a short layout is very impressive.

When we consider 25 million dollars cheap, it's a sad day. But with S:TE costing 60 million you could call Dragster cheap.

Billy bob you are way off. Coasters can get as big as they want and still be safe. If they're built, the people come.

I don't think that they built this only for the record. Even though WT is a launch, I think they wanted something more over the top than usual, something big, maybe not 500 feet big, but big. They wanted the intensity of a launching coaster more than they wanted something just for the record if you ask me. And still. Would you have rather them built a 400 foot tall super millenium force or something different?

billy bob, those are possibly two of the most idiotic, ignorant, and asinine follow up posts I've seen. I congratulate you...

25 million may seem like a lot. However, when you consider the money, the HUGE dollars, that are spent at Universal and Disney on their attractions, ie. 40 million in 1991 for the Back to the Future Simulator at Universal, more that 100 million on the new Mission Space at Epcot (the ride system alone is 25 million). This dollar amount is really not over the top for a heavily themed ride that will break, and hang on to for a while, the most important, highest and fastest records for CP.
