Tollbooth Scheme

I forgot to buy a parking pass with my season's pass this year, so i thought of a scheme to not pay the $8 and it worked for about until July and then it didnt fly anymore.

When I pulled up to the toll booth, I simply acted dumb and told the booth operator that I wanted to buy a seasons pass and a parking pass..."where do i go to buy those?"

They would then say: "oh! just drive ahead to the seasons pass office! you can purchase both of those there!" So i would park my car and go into the Point without a parking fee!

In july they told me to pull over to the side parking by the main toll booth and get the parking pass there. then i could get my seasons pass. the guy was dumb and i acted stupid and said drive where? I then drow slowly ahead and then parked in the front of the lot. never did it again! Worked for about 15 times!!!

Anyone else try this trick?

Wait a minute! The now that I think of it, Cedar Point is ripping US off by charging $8 to park our car!!! Thats almost as much as it used to cost to get in Michigan's Adventure (2 Parks for the Price of One, Twice the FUN!) a couple years back.

Ah, but cheaper than parking in the airport lot at DTW: $10/day. It is less than half of what the high school across the street from Michigan Stadium gets for a football game day: $20/car.

When you're the best park in the world 5 years straight, I think that you can charge whatever you want and people will still come. What makes you think you're entitled to park there for free?

If Cedar Point didn't charge those ridiculous prices for parking, food, pop, and other products, then Dick Kinzel wouldn't be making his 1.2 million a year. = O )

Parking fees are a pretty tired argument but do you know what they pay to park a car in New York City? One hotel was charging $70 per day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny. I've been justifying CP season passes by selling off an extra game or two of my Michigan season tickets.
