Long time reader, first time poster, so please be gentle with the flames. CPfan76 has got me thinking about it... You all are closer and have seen the construction up front, so I will of course defer to your first hand knowledge, but the construction so far, the footprint, and the Screamscape post months ago about this possibly being a dual tracked racer, along with the tentative name "Dragster" and the two different colors of track is leading me to a conclusion. Could this be a faster, higher, and very much cooler version of S:TE where the two coasters actually launch together and drag race up the 400+ foot spike? I know that S:TE has two tracks (it's my home park), but they never launch together. It would certainly explain CP's "thrill ride" terminology and the absence of curved track.

Just a thought. If this idea has been brought up before on another thread, excuse the ignorance.

I know that would be a bummer to some of you hoping for a tophat, but a racer that actually raced could be pretty thrilling. Most racers end the same way everytime, but depending on the weight of the train, maybe this one could be quite a trip.

Just my two cents.

There actually is some curved track and I'm sure the rest just hasn't arrived yet

Chad,

That is actually twisted track and not curved track...That portion of track will be used going up and down the tophat...

tubs023 thats what i thought he ment because he said he didn't think there would be a tophat and those peices sorta prove that there will be. Curved, twisted too many different types of tracks. :)

you guys, that doesn't prove anything. it COULD be like a switch between overbanks, or a twist for any number of other elements. What makes you so sure it's for the top hat. Btw, this is my first post! I have been lurking around since like may, but I finally regestered.

Taking that twist at a high speed would kill people. The only place a piece of track like that could be located on a 400 foot coaster, is the tophat. Curved track for a transition between turns would have to be A LOT larger.

That proves the tophat.

Yeah, if not the only place, certainly the most likely. I don't think CP would have a twisting spike shuttle two years in a row, no matter how cool the racing theme would be.

I take my theory back.

I am though interested to see how they place the two different colors of track.
