High Expectations?

Something I get worried about, is that every time Cedar Point builds a coast people start rumors and theories about what theyd like to see. Well, I'm worried about this one because people have built up the height of a 425 ft 120mph Rocket Coaster, and what if it ends up only being, say, 300ft?

So many people would be upset and get mad at CP? Why? Why get mad at them when YOU built up your own story? Its a shame how some people will act at THIS announcement... some people are just never satisfied :(

I think that even if it isn't "425 ft tall, 120 mph", everyone is still going to be happy with it. I know I am, even if it turned out to be an exact replica(not saying it will be) of Xcelerator, I would still be MORE than happy with it. It is a new ride and a new experience in the park, I don't think Cedar Point will let everyone down. They haven't before. I think the ride will be great, whatever it may end up being.

Xcellerator 'look-a-like'.... 400 feet.... whatever, Im going to be happy regardless. It justs breaks my heart when people get so upset @ CP whenever they dont get what they rumored to come in. For example, so many people were upset with WT, I think its a great ride and it truly breaks my heart when CP puts so much effort into their rides, and buying these world-class attractions for peoples amusement and all they do is badmouth them.

I have never been upset at any additions to CP, including those in the waterpark. I just think back to 1966 when it was mostly flats, with Blue Streak being the "best" ride there.

We really don't have to worry about it being "only" 300 feet.

As for another stat, I'm sure people will complain, but even if this were to end up a "one trick pony," this is one hell of a trick.

And what if it is a 200ft. Launch-Tophat-Brake ride?

Just posting the question. I don't really believe that, so don't jump on me about it.

I agree. Heck...I'd be happy if they brought back the upside down funhouse!

My sister literally had a "one trick pony" but he died. Maybe CP will name the new coaster "Pride's Dark Cloud" in honor of her little horse?

I have been totally satisfied with everything CP has put in, I cannot imagine putting myself in their shoes and trying to please everyone at all times... I give them SO much credit for it, they're great!

Call me a monkey man, but I don't want it to be 400 feet. It seems to rushed, and, when CP does make a 400 footer I would want it to traditional, not launched. That almost seems like cheating.

I hope I can ride this thing, that's my main concern. If I can, it will be my first launched coaster. I'm probably going to have a heart attack on my first ride. :)

The current crane is taller than MF, why would they have a 500' crane in the parking lot if they didn't need it?

If the support tower is 400 feet or more the crane will have to lift track and support above that, thus having use for the extra 100 feet.

I don't think the current crane is taller than MF.

Yeah its kinda sad to see people get their hopes up. I love just sitting here and watching it grow. I could care less if i heard an annoucement tomorrow or on opening day when i get to the park. Its just nice to see that CP is doing well enuff for us to get nice rides 2 years in a row. I am another who thinks WT is great, i love the placement. But this new "soon to be" monstrosity is gonna be insane. I cant wait for the park to close for the season so we can see the rest of this thing develope

I love their (CP) committment to high tech thrills and excitement. It would be so easy for them to just sit on their asses and say umm, I think we've done enough. Hats off to the place and the people behind the decisions to keep the unmatched fun coming.

I think it's at least as tall as the MF. I was going to look from a Power Tower ride last saturday, but I never got a good view. But it looked pretty damn tall from the Magnum queue.

Im going to have to say it is.

If the tower is about 200ft now. Then it looks like the crane goes about half the height of the tower past the top.

So about 300 ft.

The tower is not 200 ft now, it is more like 170.

Most likely it will be a 400 ft.+ 120 mph+ top hat of death that will hit the brakes after the launch. Is that a bad thing? Of course not!
