Gemini, that pile of dirt in the picture is not on the island at all.

This is not on the island? Good thing I have an eye doctor appointment on Saturday, because I must need new contacts.

I live about 50 minutes away

I live 15 minutes away. What's your point?

i've been trying to say that CPfan76 is wrong...but all i got was a post limit set on my account. Look CPfan76, We are showing you proof...Why do you keep argueing.

Walt- I'd pay anything to live 15 minutes away from CP.

There has been a pile of dirt on the island since the beginning of the season.

Doesn't really matter if they do work or not on the island, its already proven that this ride will not be an "L" shaped coaster like S:TE at SFMM.

A couple of thoughts......

If you were a construction manager putting up a 400' structure would you bring in/rent a 250' crane do to some of the job -or- get a 400' capacity crane for all of the job? I'm not familar with crane rental / transportation / erection costs.

I didn't spend alot of time studying the survey marks on the midway, but they sure look like they are in a straight line to the corkscrew loading station. Any possiblity we will see some kind tie in or re-use?

Where did the scary "Mother with the baby carriage" go on the fright zone? Dang, she was great!

the first option, actually. they did it for WT even--brought in a big crane, then a REALLY big crane, to paraphrase monty. i don't know the reasons, but i'm sure it has to do with cost and safety.

This new rides overall structure will only be L shaped, not have the crazy track layout like Xcelerator. Launch to the tower and coaster traveling back down to the station, that's it. Brakes will be at the end. Believe what you want.

Ah, so you at least admit it's not a reverse free-fall then, but a full circuit?

These pics were posted by someone on thepointol. A couple of them I found very interesting.

http://community.webshots.com/photo/50750385/50751122XlBDBi

This track section proves that it's not a reverse freefall. It looks to me like the transtition between overbanks, or maybe even an inverted top hat.

http://community.webshots.com/photo/50750385/50751218fhWrLk

These track sections can't be for the pull-up/pull-out for the tower. They look like sections for a bunny hop or floaterhill.

What do you guys think of these?

DEFINATLY for a Tophat...i think we should put away the reverse freefall "rumor" which wasnt even a rumor...which wasnt even anything.

I hope those aren't for a tophat! I don't want it inverted and by the look of those pieces it would be inverted. I want the airtime! Hopefully those are for a valley or an overbank...

I am almost positive this ride wont have an inverted tophat, but hey, anything could happen. It would be interesting, but I do think the ride will have a tophat just like Xcelerators. Well...hopefully we wont have to wait too long until we find out what the ride is, but I have a feeling it wont be until the winter.

Well, Carnage didn't take those pics, although he did show the link here.

(At least I don't think he did -- they sure look like the ones Josh took on Saturday while we were there...)

I didn't take the pictures. So whoever took them deserves the credit.

I just felt like everyone here would like to see them.

If the right side of the tower is the "up" side, and that piece of twisted track goes on that tower, it will have the same type of element on Xcelerator. It twists 90 degrees so that it would be facing the west. Don't worry...airtime you shall receive. :)

Will we still get this airtime after being "stapled" to our seats?

Cyberdman, have you ridden Xcelerator? :)

The stapling is not uncomfortable, and when you're cresting that tophat, it's downright welcome!

I've had much worse stapling on lesser coasters -- to not staple on a ride like Xcelerator is asking for trouble.

Yeah, Cyberdman, Ken is right... just think about Millennium Force and how tight those lapbars are pushed down (unless you cheat, but that's besides the point)... the MF lapbars have quite a bit of spring in them even though they are down pretty far. I know you might be saying there is a lack of airtime on MF, but if you ride the front car or back car, you get a lot of airtime on the island/lagoon crossing hills.
