Going to the park on Saturday (ugh, wish me good luck) so I'm looking forward to trying this one out. Seems like it has mixed reviews, but I'm excited seeing the theming--it sounds like it could be promising.

I'm probably going again next Saturday. If it's anything like yesterday it will be packed. The lot was almost full and the midways were a sea of people but it was still a great time.
I had a chance to go through it last night the scenery and the props were awesome but the scaring was not the best. But since this was the first weekend in a brand new haunted house im sure the acting will improve in a few weeks.
The haunt itself is very well done. The screamsters looked as if they weren't even putting in any effort. None of them were really jumping out. They were just kind of roaming around being "creepy" and not "scary"
I'm sure it was just because it was opening night and they were still figure out the art of being a screamster. Hopefully they will do a better job in a few weeks.
I thought CarnEVIL was the best one I went in on Friday. Those screamsters are always the most energetic in my opinion. I didn't have a chance to get into Erie Estate or Eden Musee, Hopefully next Friday.
Well, zombies in general mainly just shamble toward you in most most horror movies. Not to much jumping out most of the time. So maybe they were doing that.
I was disappointed.
I did however go at the end of the night on Friday, so I think the Screamsters were tired too. I think it might get better as they get more comfortable.

Just curious, are most of the screamsters working ZHS the same ones from Club Blood that this replaced? They were a large part of why that house sucked from the last few years I had gone through it. If they are the same, the park should spread them out and mix them in other places and hope that they learn from the better areas!
The scenery was well done but the "zombies" didn't act like "zombies". If they had done kind of a walking dead sort of zombie impersonation I think it would have been much better/creepier.

Zombie High is almost entirely new Screamsters. There are a few veterans in the house (and one of the Team Leaders was in Club Blood) but mostly they are still tweaking the house itself and the actors.
They are still working on lighting and placement in general but the house made GREAT leaps just from Friday to Sunday!

I went through it early Sunday and, being a single guy, I usually get more or less ignored by screamsters, but nearly everybody in the house tried to scare me or make some bizarre comment. One chick was even following me around through 3 or 4 rooms.
It's a little easier to navigate than the other houses due to wider spaces and more lighting, I think. I really liked the disgusting cafeteria room and the dance room with bodies hanging from the ceiling.
Having said all that good stuff, I went through a second time shortly before closing and it was literally the difference between night and day. The Zombies were much less active, and quieter.
Anyway the lines for the Haunted Houses on Sunday were walk-in, so to speak, so I'm not really complaining...

Went through Saturday...not impressed at all...some cool sets, especially noticing reused things in there (blueprints, lockers, ect.) but...the scares were...pathetic
Seriously, one cheerleader just sitting there chanting "lets go beavers, lets go"...
Which btw...with a male mind was slightly amusing...fighting beavers...tehe

^Yeah, that cheerleader brought a joke to my mind, which I told my friend immediately, and he just had to stop and laugh. Unfortunately, in the interest of maintaining a family-friendly atmosphere on this site, I cannot repeat the joke here!
ZHS was mixed for me. The host was good, he even worked the fact that I was wearing a Banshee t-shirt into his spiel by concluding with "and don't scream like a banshee." Great scenery in there, which has become the norm for CP HW over the years, but the Screamsters needed a little work. I know, it was the first weekend and they will probably get better. Loved the jock strap room, and the girl in the locker caught me off guard. I liked it when the guy working the school dance room pushed a mannequin into me and held it there, basically making me dance with it. Being a KI scareacter, I didn't mind that at all, but I know that breaks a rule that we have since we cannot touch the victims... er, visitors, and that extends to our props as well.
One thing we had an issue with was the Screamsters talking to us. I like horror movies, but rarely watch zombie movies because I just don't really care for zombies (except for Zombieland... great flick). But in the few that I have seen, and from what I understand from my friends who do like them, in a vast majority of them zombies don't talk! Maybe there are some where they do talk, but this brought the zombie theme of the attraction down for me.
Overall though, ZHS was better than Club Blood ever was any time I went through it in the past.

The zombie high school was interesting. I like how it is federated. The cafeteria & the locker room with the jockstrap is so neat.
Seeing as the zombies appear to be underwhelming, they should play up the high school aspect. Just get the gym teachers from the local high schools and turn them loose. What could be scarier?

Zombie High was night-and-day better last night than when I was in it opening night. Not only were the Screamsters acting more zombie-like, but they were doing some of the team-up strategies and such to get some jumps out of me. There seemed to be many more Screamsters within this time too.
I know the quality of the experience greatly depends on timing and place within a group though. I was the first one of the group in, and I never hit any stacking last night. Everything was set up for me, so of course it was going to be better. Best haunt of the night for me.
Timing definitely changes everything. Last time through Zombie High School I was in front of a high school girl in a wheel chair with a wrapped knee. The more scared her little brother got the quicker we had to go to keep from getting run over. I actually had to turn around and tell him to stop going so fast because he was just killing the back of my ankles trying to plow me over with his sister.
