You know who I feel bad for?

The guy who has to sit at the entrance of the line all day and tell people its closed.

lol, sorry bro...

WHY? He is getting paid to sit on his butt and do basically nothing but tell people "sorry, but dragster is closed today". Most of the time, people just read the sign and walk away. I would love to have his job over mine!

Clear...You're launching in 3..2..1..!

yes, but imagine having to do just that. SIT ON YOUR BUTT AND SAY THE SAME 6 WORDS OVER AND OVER ALL DAY!! I'd go crazy.

A few weeks back, the poor girl in entrance during the extended outage had completely lost her voice. She was holding a handwritten sign that people could read. Now *her* I felt sorry for.

It's not war, famine, or pestilence; it's only downtime.

I wouldn't mind sitting on my ass and telling people that Dragster is closed. As long as I get paid to do it and I don't make the customers angry, I'll be cool.

And guess who has to deal with the brunt of angry, whiny guests? Yeah, that's right, he/she does.

Try it sometime, then see if you really want that job.

The sheer fact he or she would have to deal with people like you is reason enough to feel sorry for them.

I was standing in the front of the line outside the queue entrance one day while it was shut down, and even I was getting annoyed by the people constantly asking when it would open. The best were the ones who asked if the line that had formed was for when Dragster opened. What else would it be for?

That person probably has more rides on TTD than anyone in this forum.

I think I could sit through a few days of closings knowing I get to ride by myself.

i feel bad for all the people that don't get to ride TTD. especially the ones that drive for hours. these people can only come once every couple years, and they come to ride TTD, but it is broken. someone has to be at fault for all this, but it's just under question as to who. a new ride should have break downs, but this is just getting out of hand now

Why is it getting out of hand? STE was 11 months behind shedule, X was like 6 months SBNO, now they both work great, it has been down for a week and some days, go outside and take a break, it will be ok.

I worked at Son of Beast the year it opened and Tomb Raider last year at Kings Island. They both saw a ton of down time. I absolutely hated being out there telling people to piss off. It was hell. Everyone for some reason thought it was personally my fault that the ride was down. The American Coaster Enthusiast were the most understanding. Not to mention it gets really hot out there when you aren't moving around. I would much rather get paid to work the ride than to tell people it's down!
Jeff, was that directed at me?
Good zinger Jeff :)

I feel sorry for Cedar Point. They invest all of this money just to lose face because of guests getting upset about something that is ultimately out of their control. I know all of this trouble is killing them.

Honest truth told to me by marina gate readmissions host:

Host: Hand stamped, two cents.

Me: That's cool, I think I have two cents.

Host: I better not take it, by the time you leave here its all you'll have.

LOL, my favorite on this site is somehow it is the "guests" fault that this thing is down and they are the only problem. You feel sorry for Cedar Point??? You have got to be kidding me. Hate to burst your bubble but it is either Intamin or Cedar Point or both that are responsible for the excessive downtime. Not the guests. Its absolutely amazing that some of you will defend CP at every single turn, no matter what. If it was Six Flags with these problems you would be bashing the hell out of them.

Do I feel bad for the person telling people the ride is shut down. NO, they are getting paid to do so. I have to tell people unpleasant information daily and they get mad at me even though it is nothing I did wrong. There is no thread for people feeling sorry for me and I dont want one. Why? because its my JOB. I think some of you need to get one so you can understand the concept of customer service.

Would I complain to the person at the front of the line. No, because I'am familiar with what is really going on because of my interest in coasters. Most of the general public though has no clue and are simply frustrated. I dont know why that is so difficult to understand and why they are wrong for being frustrated.

I also like how insults can be delved out when it is insulting those that are frustrated or critical of CP, yet when someone does the same in reverse their posts are deleted. HMMMMM

how about all my fellow workers here who are assigned to the dragster and havent drawn a full paycheck since they are being shifted around to other spots in the park wherever hours are available. sounds like a fantastic idea for a summer vacation to me.

my head hurts. my feet stink. i dont love jesus.

Who said it was the guests' fault that the ride was down? And what insult in this thread was delved out to someone frustrated with CP? The only insult I saw was directed at someone who had no empathy for the poor shlep who had to "sit on his butt all day". Geez, get over it, Twister.

.

Maybe CP could put a talking moose, er... I mean Snoopy, at the entrance with a recorded message...

TTD is currently testing. There have been a few trains sent over the top. Hopefully this will all be over and TTD will begin operating again.
