Yet another dorm question...

I searched the forums and couldn't find the answer to this, when are you assigned or choose a dorm? Would it be on your contract? A seperate mail-out? Or day of? This would really help me decide what I need to bring.

You get to pick where you live the first day you get there; they don't assign you a place. The only problem is that there might not be openings in your "first choice" since you can't reserve a spot in advance, so pretty much be prepared to live anywhere. (The earlier you come the more likely it is that you can live off-Point, but there are usually openings everywhere from people coming and going, and you can always move, so don't let that discourage you).

If you're not limited too much by space in your vehicle and someone is bringing you down (up?) and dropping you off, I would suggest bringing as much stuff as you think you might need at first, and then -- after you find out where you're staying --send the stuff you decide you don't want home with them.

Thanks! I like it because it reminds me that if I do the best job I can, people will notice. You shouldn't have to tell someone you're a good employee or a good teammate; they should be able to see it through your words and actions.

Rather than start a new thread, I'll just ask another question in this one. How long can you hold a spot for another employee who will be starting later than you?

It's hard too.. depending on what time you process in.. and when they do..

Alot of the time.. it's not even possible after the first week of May.
