I just got back from CP. I got in line to MF at 11:20. When they were testing the ride I saw the yellow train running. When the ride opened they had the blue and yellow trains running. I rode in the yellow train. I can't tell you if it is smoother or not because I wasn't paying any attention to that. That was the first time the yellow train has run (besides testing), I think. After about 2 hrs they put the yellow train on the transfer track and then the red and blue trains ran. I'm not quite sure why they stopped running the yellow so early. Any thoughts?

Maybe they were afraid that the horrendous noise it made going up the lift hill would send people screaming for the exits. It sure made a lot of folks uneasy.

They told me that it is safe to ride the yellow when it is making the noise, but is causes a lot of wear and tear and over time does some damage.
Does anyone know exactly what is wrong with the yellow train does it not work right or something for $25 million you think Intamin would fix it, when I was getting on MF Sunday there was a guy looking at the yellow train with an Intamin Jacket on!

When I rode in the yellow train yesterday it did make a really loud noise going up the lift. But, I do now that the people from Intamin have to be done working on it by this Saturday. All three trains will be running this weekend.

Can they fix the noise it makes?

The noise is coming from the anti rollbacks.

Someone mentioned in an earlier post that the anti-rollbacks were magnetic. Is this true? If so, does anyone know how that works (and why it would be making noise).
Nevermind. I just found my answer. It's in the "Noon opening" topic for anyone following my train of thought (pun intended).
Ok, it is from the anti-roll back. Is the noise perminate, or can they fix it? In other words, is this a temperary problem, or will yellow still be doing this next month?

They just have to configure it to run properly, every train is different. Blue did the first time, red did it, and now yellow is doing it.
The question now is-When will all three trains be running?
I hope it's running next Thursday. I hope they're all running next Thursday! And I hope for great weather too!!
Re Josh:
I was there too! I saw them pouring water out of the dummies. I thought for a second we might see the release of the yellow train!

I was there yesterday too and they had the yellow train running for about an hour and a half. It began to make the noise and a few of my friends started freaking out. After I explained that it was just the anti-rollbacks they weren't scared anymore. Something ineresting though, when they first started testing it they sent out the red train first I believe and it ALMOST rolled back on the third hill! It BARELY made it over, I was about to start freaking out.

Yeah... I don't understand why they don't run with dummies in the morning, because that's really close getting over that third hill.

Speaking of water dummies, I had to share this one, I laughed for hours!! Someone told me how dangerous MF was, and they went on to say that when they sent the trains out for testing with the water dummies that they came back with no heads or arms!!! I rolled on this one, cause if I do recall, THERE WERE NO HEADS OR ARMS ON THEM!
This was one of the rumors floating around in line today, and I thought to myself, I must share this one!
Are these rumor-starting people just looking for attention, or are they just looking for excuses not to ride MF? :-)

The "school bus" sat on the transfer track all day Wednesday. But in all fairness, with only 2 trains coasting, the line did seem to move quickly. For May. They need to get three trains running before the summer blitz or there is going to be one terribly long line. BTW- there were "suits" crawling all over MF all day presumably looking for a solution, fast.

Oops... I rode it again!

Start to roll backwards?? That would be sooooo cool of it did that if I was on it. I'll be going this friday, so I'll update u guys on whats going on. But the sound of MF going backwards would be pretty cool in my book.
Since I have already ridden in the blue and red trains (no clue how many each-think got blue more)
I would love to see how the yellow train runs-I know the red train wasnt as smooth and it did make alot more noise going down the 1st hill---
and it definitely "clicked" the whole ride!
(we finally figured out this clicking noise was being caused by the piece of plastic (?) used in the front of each car
Intamin was there last Thursday too!
