OK, so granted, this is more for curiosity's sake than anything else, but:
How does CP go about getting their full-time career people? Do they advertise like anyone else? Do they post on the 'net somewhere? I'm sure that marketing, maintenance, computer, etc. type positions must open continuously as they do in other businesses.

Any opening is first posted in-house. During the years I was there, I saw perhaps 5 a season. I've also seen openings in the Sandusky Register and once in the Cleveland Plain Dealer. But I think they only go to the papers after giving current employees a shot. Most full-time employees were once seasonal.
BTW, they have computers there? :-)

Yep, they usually go to current employees first. Three of my friends became full-time this past summer. I think they like current employees because they already know the ropes.

All the current full timers I'm familiar with began as seasonals, but they did post a job in my school's employment bulletin once last year.
