Xcelerator vs TTD

They're the only two Accelerators I've been on.

Which launch do you guys feel is more intense in terms of acceleration & G forces?

Or compare to any other accelerator.

TTD is by far much better. TTD also has way more G's.

I'm just comparing the launches, not the rides themselves. Just wanna know which pulls more G's.

I would have to say TTD.

Xcelerator goes 0-82 in 2 seconds, dragster 0-120 in 4.

Xcelerator is a better ride, launch, and theme than Dragster. Hands down I like Xcelerator better. :)

I have been on both Kingda Ka and TTD, and I didn't see a difference in the launches, they're both really intense. However, I like TTD better because of the lap bars. Even though the Xcelerator might be a faster rate, TTD is probably better. FYI, KK launches to 128 in 3.3 seconds

No my dear friend KK launches 0-128 in 3.5 seconds. :)

I don’t care how many people say that, but it's just stupid to use that as a means of making one launch better than the other (not saying anyone is here, it's just something I've noticed elsewhere) because, technically, Dragster launches to 120 in less than 4 seconds (its 3.7 seconds I think). And neither is very distinguishable from a full 4 seconds. I count Dragsters launch time from when it launches to when it hits the catch car brakes not from launch to end of launch track (which is 4 seconds).

For simple purposes I’m just going to refer to Dragster and KK as 4 sec.
Kingda Ka - 32mph per sec
Dragster - 30mph per sec
Xcelerator - 40mph per sec

So Xcelerator has a quicker launch.....it's just not faster than Dragster or KK.

Hmm, we need to calculate the actual acceleration every 10ft or so but guess it tapers off as reach end of launch.

Btw, Xcelerator's launch track is 157ft http://rcdb.com/id1574.htm What is the length for TTD & KK?

XCelerator hands down.

It's definitely the more intense of the launches, and the overbanked turns give it a little more "ride" than TTD.

I think TTD is much more intense...i mean your just sitting there staring at the giant hill...then all you remember is seeing those "christmas lights" flash and then your at the top of the hill staring straight down with no over the arm restraints...then you hit the brakes and its all over...the tension definitely also builds up when you're in the loading station watching cars leave the station...

And that is why its not worth waiting more than 20-30 minutes to ride.

Have you ridden XCelerator? It has the same exact restraints as Dragster. You also launch directly from the station, which gives it another edge over TTD, IMHO.

And the 90 degree twist on the way down provides so much of a better airtime and ride experience than the 270 degree twist. The 270 kills dragster, IMO.

I'd love to ride Xcelerator.....but I doubt I ever will. The only other launch coaster I have been on is Storm Runner, and its launch is more fun than it is thrilling.
And from what I've seen, I'd say Xcelerator would indeed outrank Dragster in ride experience. I do like its theme, its colors, trains, and out of the station launch. If I were to ever ride it, it would be right next to Dragster in my favorite coasters.

Xcelerators launch is more intense in a way, but the fact that TTD goes all the way to 120 gives it the edge.

I remember the first time I rode it, I was like "OMG this is insane." You really do get yanked down the drop on that ride. The front provies some amazing air, too. Overall it's just a much more kick-ass ride than TTD.

To be honest, I was kind of hoping that TTD would be more like XCelerator, not in terms of overbanked turns, though that would be nice, but there's just something about XCelerator that's just an overall winner. Can't put my finger on it, though.
