WWL being disassembled

Did anyone see today (6/5) that all the pipes were being stacked in the area where Dragster's parts were first discovered. I was just wondering if anyone knew what this was.

Were is that area? I did notice that it was not filled yesterday. I hope its not gone for good.

If they take it out, the attraction that replaces it should be great, Cedar Point only has 3 water rides, & they all go good together in frontier town...

They had a problem with pump 1 on Friday. They ended up having to evacuate the ride with a walk off. I saw them working on it afterwards, and after the park closed. I'm sure its related to that.

On another note, did anyone notice they were welding the Magnum lift after Coastermania? ;) That should get the rumors going.

It broke down at about 5:10 on Friday. My wife and daughter got walked down - they were the only boat on the upper part of the ride. Of course, I had headed back to the pool at the cabin and missed the whole thing.

To being an "us" for once - instead of a "them"

Hmm, It must have been dissappointing for it to be closed with the recent Temp increase. WWL is a great ride to cool off without being completely soaked (usually).

I'm sure it's just mechanical. If they were disassembling it, they would have done it over the winter, or they will wait until the end of this season. They wouldn't do it during the season.

Cedar Point rocks my socks.

especially @ the beginning of the summer....

My little brothers are in love with WWL. they hated to see it closed..especially on a hot day like this..

I saw a lot of boats jammed up in the trough and no water anywhere on the ride around 6-ish on Friday. Several m people, including Monty, were gathered around the large pumps under the first smaller lift. Definately some problem with the pumps I think.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Yesterday (6/5) it looked as though they were re-assembling the pipe that attaches to the first small hill. I highly doubt they would take this ride out one month into the season.

When I was their in May when the park first opened I went for a ride on WWL and it happened to us. The water emptyed on the other side of the first hill and they needed to evacuate the ride.

It was just a bad pump that was being replaced. They have had nothing but problems with this same pump since opening day. Wwl is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Just last season they painted parts of the ride and rebuilt some of the boats.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Some idiot from my school was there and said the operator said they were getting ready for a ride like X-Flight.

Well do you believe this 'idiot'?

I guess I'll have to wait till next year to find out.

I does expect this ride to be around much longer. Coasters may have a long life at CP but flume rides do not. It's not as nearly as bad of shape as Geauga Lake's however. I wouldn't be totally surprised if they built a new flume somewhere else in the park.

Watch the apperance of the ride as the season progresses look at subtle clues such as missing signs markings on the ground or orange tape around trees.

What if we see a bunch of dirt behind the ride or in the middle of the ride structure?

Oh God, here we go again with the dirt piles, LOL.

First trip June 23rd

I wish they would rip it out, that would make the coming of a new coaster inevitable.
