Would you do 24 hours at CP?

Disney just came off another successfull 24 hour opening for the MK and Disneyland. Would you consider going to Cedar Point for an all nighter if they were open for 24 hours?

Nah. Too old to stay up all night like that. Plus I prefer riding in the daylight.

Would certainly try! but yeah my legs might give out at about 18 hours...

Halloweekends would be the time to try it, for sure.

Definitely Halloweekends^

Coastermania 2011 was close. Got to the park about 8 pm on Friday night. Stayed until 1 am. Crashed at Breakers for a couple hours and were back at the park at 5:30 am and stayed until midnight. A lot of fun.

Halloweekends. And I could actually see the park being really busy if it stayed open all night on Friday and/or Saturday nights. The hardest part would be getting enough employees to agree to it.

How about "The Fright Overnight" on a halloweekend.

Really Cedar Point has a difficult time as it is keeping people in the park past 10:00 pm (even during Columbus day weekend). I would really be pretty surprised if the park ever tried something like this.

I don't think they can ever try this...unlike WDW who owns all their own property, Cedar Point Road is lined with private houses who would never tolerate coaster noise 24/7 even if just for one night.

You can't really hear the coasters on most, if not all, of Cedar Point Road.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I like the name.

I know that given the chance, I'd be able to get a group of friends to go to the park and stay for awhile. Would all of us be able to make it completely through the night? No, but it would still be cool to stay there really late.

Pete, oh yea? Tell that to the 11 houses that line Cedar Point Road east of the parking lot and I guarantee you they will call in noise complaints...I have a summer house about a quarte mile further down the road and even there you can hear the coasters, especially at night when the rest of the world is silent there...

If you choose to have a house that close to the Point, you should expect, and know all of the consequences of living there.

I am not complaining when the noise stops at midnight -- but I guarantee you anyone in those half million and up houses would complain if the noise went on beyond that...Just sayin'....Its why Gatekeeper had to wait until a reasonable hour to begin its morning Media Day runs....

My daughter and I were in the park from 5am to 1am one Coastermainia a few years back. I doubt I could do it again.

I think it would be cool during Halloweekends. The day I went last year was so crowded, I couldn't get on anything. MF had a seven hour wait and it was seriously wall to wall. Twenty four hours might have gotten the traffic down later at night to make it easier to get on rides.

Did you talk to someone about this or are you going off of what you think?

What kind of crazy thread topic is this? How could the park extend its operating time. Don't you know; no one will come, it will be too cold, there is not enough staff, the park would never make any money off of being open longer and maintenance wouldn't know what to do with themselves. Did I miss anything?

I think the residents along the Chaussee would be fine with the noise that reached them. It is the residents along the parking lot that would go bonkers. Maybe even a certain resident that used to run the park.
