First off I just want to say, I belive this park is extremely well runned. All of the ride ops were fast, friendly, and efficient. This park is another CF wonder, everything was clean, everything was open, and the decorating for Halloweekends was pretty good. Not great but good.
Alright so first off we arrived at the park about 11:45, stopped at BK just before coming, then payed $8 for parking, but it's all good. We first got in, got a map, and started heading towards Spinning Dragons. I expected there to be a long line since it's the first coaster you come to, it was about a 45 min. wait. I didn't think it was worth it since it was only about a 30 second ride. So I figured I'd come to it later, and headed for Timberwolf, which broke down right as me and my friends got into the station. They said it would be about a 10-20 minute wait, so we headed for Thunderhawk, which I'd never been on.
Thunderhawk- This ride is like the RCT2 top spin, and it's got water!(Not sure the correct name for it.) Now I just have to say, I love water rides, and this ride takes the cake for my all time favorite flat. It's funny to hear everyone scream whenever we hit little drizzle of water, then shout when we got soaked. This ride was great! I knew this ride would have to be ridden again...later. So once off, and soaked, we headed for Timberwolf.
Timberwolf- I love this rides logo, there was no line so we walked right into the station, and got a seat toward the front since I'd heard it battered you in the back. Only had to wait for one train before it was our turn. This is a fun ride, it jostles(sp?) you a lot, but if you dont' put your head back, it doesn't bother you. This coaster has AWESOME airtime, I love it! This would also be a reride for me...later. Once off, I couldn't wait to ride it, so we headed for MAMBA!
Mamba- Awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome! This has to be the most underrated coaster I've been on.(Haven't been on a lot.) In my opinion, it's the best hyper in the Midwest! (Even better than Magnum!) The airtime is great! The G's on the large helix are awesome, I even had a hard time keeping my hands up because of them. Later that night I rode it for the 3rd time, and when we got to the brakes, the guy in front of me(that I didn't know.) turned around and told me "Millennium Force in Ohio is better." Of coarse, I agreed and told him how I'd been there. It was pretty cool, I also saw a kid with a CP shirt on in line. Alright, as I've said, I love water rides so I headed for Fury of the Nile.
Fury of the Nile- One of the faster river rides I've been on, the themeing is pretty cool, but you don't get really wet. They even had a boat that went around with Skeletons that are supposed to look like jail-breakers on it. So after that, wanted to ride a coaster, so we headed for Boomerang.
Boomerang- This is the only boomerang coaster I've had the privilege to ride, it's pretty smooth. They just need to do something about the wasps at the top of the first lift, but it was a fun ride. Ok, so, needed to get Spinning Dragons on my coaster count, so that's where we headed next...
Spinning Dragons- By this time one of my friends were feeling sick, so my and my brother got in line. We waited about 30 minutes, and got to the station. We were the only ones in our car and I told my bro to sit on the same side as me, he did and the spinning was awesome! The ride wasn't as intense as I thought though, but still fun. We went on it again later and some other people rode with us, you can definatly see a difference when all the seats are full. The brakes were pretty harsh, but didn't bother me.
After that we got off and I was hungry, so we ate at some place in the Scandinavia section. Can't remember what it was called, but all I got was fries and a bottled water. The fries were really good, my brother wasn't really hungry and got cotton candy. And my friends got burgers, so after that we were all feeling better and headed for Detanator!
Detanator- Not as good as Power Tower, but still pretty fun. Only waited for about 10 minutes and got on. We were on the side where we got a great view of downtown KC, pretty cool, especially at night. After that, all the thrill rides were done, and it was time for rerides!
I also went on Viking Voyager, Autobahn, and Monsoon later in the day. And we got to go on Mamba, Detanator, Timberwolf, and the Nile at night. All in all a great day! I will definatly come back to this park, hopefully they will get a B&M like they've been rumored to get for the past 4 years. O well, at least they're expanding, they're putting in a Lighthouse Point type village next to Mamba.
On the way out of the park, it was time for the fog machines to turn on, and the costumed people to come out. I have to admit, it's pretty spooky walking in fog, only able to see 2 feet in front of you and have people with shovels, axes, and bloody faces to sneak up behind you. It SCARED MY MOM TO DEATH, which was hilarious, got me a couple times too. But it just added to the thrill of the day, well that's all, thanks for reading!
Ride Count...
Thunderhawk-4
Mamba-3
Timberwolf-3
Spinning Dragons-2
Boomerang-1
Fury of the Nile-3
Monsoon-1
Viking Voyager-1
Autobahn-1
Detanator-2
Instead of visiting WOF with your CP pass, just get a WOF pass and save about $30 or more. When my wife and I lived in St. Louis, that is what we did every year. In fact, we would only use our pass at WOF about 1-2 times per year, but would use it at CP about 5 times per year.
I like WOF, but I found that I could do everything there in about 3-4 hours. When we visited, we could drive in and drive home the same day. It would be nice to see a few more attractions added, but all in all, it is still a nice park to visit.
Would I have to get the pass processed at Worlds of Fun? Could I still have Joe Cool without a regular cp season pass, or the parking permit?
Thanks for the tip Regular Guy. *** Edited 9/28/2004 3:25:22 AM UTC by Geewhzz***

I'm not sure exactly about crowds, but I do know that even on a good day, the park doesn't get too crowded. I've never seen Mamba's first que fill up, its usually a walk up to the station.
About the hotels, I don't know about that either. We always stay with my friends in Lawerence, but worldsoffun.com has some hotels listed on their trip planning section. Also, try going to worldsoffun.org , they have extra info there.
