World Records or not?????

Well Millennium Force is certainly a record breaker, as well as Magnum. But are those not high quality, smooth rides? I think Cedar Point can do both, break records, and create quality rides.

I wouldn't be holdin gyour breath on a TA2K that will go faster than the one being built in Japan. During my talks with Stan and Wayne from S&S. They are having some launch cable problems when dealing with the 106.8 they are trying to hit there.

MF total - 388 laps
VertiGo Launches - 22

I wish they would shatter the record for most loops with 15! ;) Too bad that probably wont happen.
I would actually like a dueling (racing) coaster.  Something like Lightning racer...only much taller.....faster....and longer :)
I just rode a flying coaster. CP needs a flying coaster. A record-breaking one (shouldn't be too hard at this point). As long as it actually works :)

In order to get 106 on a launch, you need something more powerful than air. Unleash the natural raw power of earth's mightiest force!

2001 Force Laps -126
2001 Magnum Laps-250
6/11/01 Gemini Laps- 100

I assume you're talking about magnets...the last time I checked, LIM's and LSM's took way more track length and have less acceleration time than air launches. Hypersonic accelerates faster than a freaking dragster...that's power!

On the subject of launching coasters, air is the way to go...especially if they get the catapault system working correctly at serious speeds. (100mph-150mph)

You can use whatever Earth's best force is, Jmikeyoe, as long as it's used on a floorless coaster in Sandusky in 2002 :)
I would love to see a B&M Flyer. But I'm sure CP won't get one until Alton Towers one open, so they can see if it's a sucess.

Alton Towers have the B+M exclusive for 2 years, as they did with Oblivon (dive machine - Vertical) with  that type of B+M, and no other one allowed to be built anywhere for at least 2 years. Its in Alton Towers and B+M Contract.

Which of course is good for us over  here in Blighty :-) Everyone wanting to ride the B+M Flyer has to come over until at least 2004 !!

And apperently Alton have just signed another new contract with B+M, for another 3 coasters over 6 years ALL again to be exclusives.. Oh its sometimes good to live in UK  :-) :-)

See you over here soon.

And now rumours of new Tussuads park to open next year too.

That's funny, Nick, because I too used to want the Point to get a B/M Flyer...then I went on X-Flight I found it too, and could now care less about the whole flying concept. Yet, I think the B/M versio will be much smoother, and less intense..at least I hope so...

Mikey. Anyway, bring on the floorless :)

Hate to dissapoint, but a top fuel dragster will go from 0 to 315+ mph in just over 4 seconds.  That's a little quicker than H:XLC.  Not that XLC is not fast, it is.  Just not faster than a dragster.

How about a racing flying coaster?
I think a dueling flyer would be cool, like the Dragons at IOA.

ucsigep, I heard that on one of this year's coaster shows. Maybe they meant it accelerated faster than a dragster from 0-80mph being 1.8 seconds...
