Working Sept/Oct/Nov?

I've worked at Cedar Point before ('96-'98), but my contract always ended at the end of August. This year, I'm thinking of going back in August and working through the end of the season (various reasons). I know that you more or less work an OC every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but what about during the week? Are there any extra hours you can pick up when the park itself isn't open, like decorating for Halloweekends or whatever? Does it have to be in your department, or is it more first-come, first-served?

What about housing? I know that everyone is off-point at that time, but how crowded/full is it, roommate-wise?

Thanks!

I don't think it is terribly crowded in housing and I believe you don't have to pay for it. Some departments do ask for help from anyone in the park. The hotels used to have non-accom. employees come over and help get them "put to bed" for the winter.

Other departments start some early closing procedures as well. Best to call HR and ask them.

CrystalKat-long time no hear!!! Glad you're back on GTTP once more! I do not know about being able to work during the week since when I worked it was only for F, Sat and Sun during the last 6 weekends of the season. I imagine there would have to be something to do around the park during the week-what, I have NO clue. I drove home every Monday morning to my real job then drove back to CP every Friday. I can however vouch that Commons was pretty empty by that time, I even had a room all to myself! I know it was free, housing free after Labor Day, and you can't beat that price!
I'd have to agree with Chief Wahoo call HR (or even email them) and I'm sure they'll have the answer for you!
take care!
