Working in 2004?

If one were to apply in rides right now what would the chances of working on a major ride be? (Dragster, Milli, Mantis, Magnum, Raptor, Gemini, Mean Streak,) I have prior amusement park experience and I am 23. I don't know if that maes a difference, but just checking.

Just apply and you'll get put where they need you. If you don't like where you are, then transfer. It's not hard to get on the ride you want usually.

While I'm sure that how you interview somewhat determines where you'll be put, it's almost entirely based on simply where you are needed at the moment. I know people who have worked at Cedar Point a couple years now and have worked nothing but the "small rides". This is not because Park Op management thinks you won't be able to handle a bigger ride, it's simply that they need to fill up crews evenly.

By the way, if you are disappointed with the location on your contract, chances are you won't even be working there, especially if you're coming in after the early May college rush. Again, it's all based on staffing needs. I was contracted for Gemini my first year. When I got there in late May, they were going to move me to Corkscrew, but ended up moving someone else. Then my second year, I was contracted Gemini, and was moved to Dragster after working at Gemini for two days. So people are constantly being moved around, and if you are one of the people who are at one ride the entire season, you will see that your crew at the end is almost entirely different than it was at the beginning!

i didnt apply till may my first year, got there in june... was contracted skyride, got there they sent me to the train (blech), 2 weeks later got moved to Magnum. where i stayed.
