Working at Cedar Point next year

Hey guys,

Basically I want to work at cedar point next year. I've always loved the place and think it would be amazing to work there. I have a few questions:

1) When does the registration for next season begin? I heard December, is this right?
2) Is it pretty much everybody that applies gets a job, or do they turn some people down?
3) Do most of you guys bring cars?

Well that's all I can think of now, but I'm sure I'll have 500000 more questions soon enough.

i have a related question, does cedar point hire people who are only available for weekends? what about just saturdays?

(1) I'm pretty sure the online application comes out around mid-December. I applied the night it became available.

(2) I don't think everybody that applies actually gets a job.

(3) I brought a car and the employee parking lot always seems to be pretty full. It's much easier not having to wait for the bus.

I am not 100% sure about this one, but I don't think they will. You probably need to work during the week in the summer to have a job. Call the Job Hotline sometime and they'll give you a definite answer. I hope this helps both of you!

Since the first two are pretty much taken care of, here's my take on #3.

During my first year I didn't take my car, so I lived on point. I was glad I did. It was no problem getting to work on time, and being able to go from work to sleep in five minutes was great. The few times I had to take the bus I didn't enjoy it. It'll take you a long time to get on point, especially if the bus is full. When it comes to getting around town, it was all about knowing people who have a car.

The next year I lived off point and brought my car along. There were days when I had to leave early because of the traffic, but for the most part it wasn't that bad. The convience was certainly worth having it.

AlanWindsor, I plan on working there next summer too. I also have like 50000 questions, but look on some of the past boards to maybe get some more of your questions answered.

I hope you are all ready for 80hr weeks.... That's 12 hours a day, 7 days a week... I couldn't take it... I feel bad for ya'll.

Do you get to pick your ride that you want to work on, when you apply?

On the application it will ask you where (park ops/foods...etc) you would most want to work. If you want a specific ride there is a space for that too I do believe. I know people who have worked a specific ride previousely would obviousely get 1st dibs on that ride, but once you're in, you can ask for a transfer, all they can say is no.

I got Raptor every season I worked there, but my cicumstance is alittle different! :)

You have to listen to who ever it was who said it is HARD work!!!

2) Is it pretty much everybody that applies gets a job, or do they turn some people down? They turn down some people but i know not a whole lot

3) Do most of you guys bring cars? Alot of people do bring cars but they don't always drive to cedar point they sometimes take the bus's.
