Work Transition

At my current job, I only work 3 days a week and get 15 hours a week.

I was told that I would be working an average of 6 days a week for 40-50 hours a week. I am just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation that I am in, and hope you can tell me what the transition may be like going from short weeks/short hours to long weeks/long hours.

I applied for group sales/marketing clerk. I already had turned in my résumé and had my interview with Jason Cartell. He told me that he had a few more applicants to review and he would get back to memsometimemthis week.

Its more like, getting used to being on your feet for that long again. Sometimes it gets stressful waiting for days off, but it typically ends up not being that bad. Just dont let it get to you the first couple of weeks, you'll get used to it pretty fast :)

You get used to it really quickly. The first week you will probably be dead and end up sleeping a lot. But after that youll be fine!

It was an even tougher transition for me, because when I started it was my first job. (Well, I did baby-sit prior to that, but that mostly involved watching TV and playing Barbies).

I started in April and for that first month we just did park clean-up and got things ready for opening. What was nice was that we had a normal schedule - we only worked Monday-Friday, 9-5. It wasn't a bad transition at all. I had a lot of free time still.

But once May came and the park opened, my crew ended up becoming quickly understaffed and I was working 7 days a week, 12-14 hours a day. That was unbearable. Following seasons were better when I had less hours.

If you truly do only work 40-50 hours a week, it isn't so bad. You'll still have time to rest and recharge and have fun. It's when you get into the 60 or 70+ hour range that it is terrible. I don't know anything about the position you're applying for, so I honestly can't say how many hours you'll work in reality.

I interned in the Marketing office back in 11', back then the group sales split their time between taking calls on the phone for group sales ticket orders and conducting VIP tours and rotating doing in park surveys.
