With the demise of Bid Bad Wolf At Busch Gardens , Will we see Iron Dragon coming down next?

The belts at KI were just added a couple of years ago. There is no good reason for them.

I rode Top Gun (Flight Deck) on Satuday and the restraints are fine. I'm 6 foot 3 and I have no problem in any suspended coasters.

I just rode bbw and iron dragon, and flight deck in the past week. The tubs were all the same size. Believe it or not, the tubs that were in the worst condition were iron dragons.

There were several pinch points in the fiberglass(I found this out the painfull way), and when I mentiond it to a ride host they could care less.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

^ - what did you expect them to do? He's not going to run the phone to call maintenance to come fix the tub. He probably heard you and made a mental note of it to have maintenance look at it. There isn't much else he can do.

No...

She did not even bother to look into the tub, or try to take notice of the problem. She just brushed it off as no big deal. They just let the next group of people into the ride.

I woulden't expect them to run to the phone, but at least look at it to see if they need to.

Perhaps this was something the ride op(s) was aware of...

Iron Dragon is a decent, relaxing ride still. Its a good ride to let kids not seeking the ulitmate thrill to have giggle on. I didn't like when they painted it the yellow color, I liked the original colors. It would be intresting if they could find a Paint scheme to blend in with the woods. I enjoyed Top Gun/Flight Deck at KI. Cedar Point doesnt have the Valleys that KI does, and that ride fits will where it is at, its not as wild as The Bat use to be. I did get to ride The Bat once before it went bye bye.

Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.

How do you account for the seatbelts on Flight Deck? Are they there just because it's faster? Or because the tubs are bigger and you are more 'down in' the car?

I believe Flight Deck has those seats belts because of the higher speed, taller drops, and the 90degree turns that Iron Dragon doesn't have. Not that I'm complaining, I've never had any form of discomfort from the restraints on either and I'm 5'9".

Still waiting for that 500ft floorless wooden coaster.

No, the dynamics of the ride have nothing to do with the seat belts. They were a recent retrofit, and about as necessary as those on Corkscrew (read: not at all).

Iron Dragon is no where near agressive as Big Bad Wolf was. The Buckets on Iron dragon are in bad condition, but that is because Cedar Fair has a hard time showing every ride the same attention as Busch Gardens. Big Bad Wolf is simply an aggressive, powerful, jaw dropping ride. It is lucky to have made it 25 years considering the defunct Arrow Dynamics. Its aggression did a number on the wheels and the tracks. The Bat and Kings Island didnt make it past its forth season cause it was too aggressive on the structure and overall ride. I will miss Big Bad Wolf but i believe Cedar Point will not remove Iron Dragon. Removing any ride right now will be crucial to their coaster count.

My signature was way longer than three lines.

Iron Dragon won't be removed simply because it is moderate thrill ride (crucial need for Cedar Point) and plus what would you be able to fit into that tight space?

^^ Those tubs are in the best condition i have ever seen. Big Bad Wolfs tubs have all theese holes in them. I will se FLight Decks next week but Iron dragons are really great looking.

Big Bad Wolf doesn't look that great either. The colors are really faded. It also took the train a minute to park itself in the station. I am mad its leaving but I think a wooden coaster wood be the best there. I could see it go down that big hill like BBW did but closer to the Rhine River.

Pepsi Refresh is saving one coaster at a time: http://pep.si/bTTsfc

ChrisC - Iron Dragon will never be removed simply because it is a modearte thrill ride?

What would you have classified White Water Landing as?

Me? I'm thinking moderate thrill ride.

I think Iron Dragon's tubs are in pretty good condition. They painted them just a few years ago.

And for the record, The Bat was removed for a number of engineering failures, not the least of which was that they didn't bank the track and tried to brake trains from below the tubs.

I know that Flight Deck and Dragon are fun to me! I love the way they flow. Its nice to have a variety of coasters like we have at Cedar Point because to me that is what makes Cedar Point what it is...

Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs

^Yeah I totally agree 100 percent!

In terms of BBW's bad shape again thats because they didn't take care of it as much as you think, as i mentioned before they have dropped those trains 2 stories to the ground (approx. guess of track to ground off of the transfer track) before. Personally it needs to go because it also blocks off an area that could be expanded to link to the old drachen fire area.

And in terms of Bat, it was just designed poorly, arrow had its hopes too high for those trains and original design, don't forget they did have a loop/corkscrew in the plans for suspended coasters. Which they thought they could get working by sending the train in with enough speed as to not swing to the side and break off.

All in all Iron Dragon's a great ride and it will be around for a while to come.

Your "insight" about how well they took care of BBW is completely wrong.
