Winter Chill Out 2025

You brought up GL and seemingly accusing her of being a reason the park closed.

While you may not have seen her as approachable with guests or staff, I have and many others have.

I live 3 hours away from CP and have seen both Carrie and Colleen on the midways more times than I can count in the past 2 years, whereas I never saw Jason on the midways as much and I have great respect for him. I never saw John.

It's all a difference of opinion and really at the end of the day Six Flags will make their decision despite who me, you or anyone else thinks should take the role.

How are this many people on a first name basis with the park Presidents?

I never once accused her of closing the park. I said she is more qualified of closing a park, and not so much at a park with the caliber as CP. Especially considering the ongoing downfall of operations. It is no secret that CP’s operations have been an issue over the past decade. Get out of your feelings.

Funny, because as I said before, I, and many others, haven’t seen that side. But, ok.

Living 3 hours from the park has nothing to do with who you have and have not seen on the midways. 10 years ago, many people knew who the GM was because Jason was very hands on and active. Not that the amount of followers on social media determines much, but Jason was active during his tenure as GM with 9k+ followers on Twitter (or X, or whatever you want to call it) because of how present he was with the public. Meanwhile, Carrie has a whopping 421 followers. Not sure many people could really tell you who the GM was when Carrie was there. Again, no disrespect to Carrie since she was there during some tough times. But she doesn’t have what Jason and John had.

You are correct about this part. However, people can still voice their opinions and should be able to do so without their words being twisted or feeling silly defensiveness from people who simply disagree.

LULZ. I'm trying to find the spot on LinkedIn where people can list number of Twitter followers. It's the first thing I think of when hiring someone.

Not the point and you know it. Your cherry picking is just as bad as everybody else who you claim does it to you.

I also addressed that the amount of followers doesn’t mean much. But when people are willing to follow a GM that is personable (as Magnum-XL 200 claims Carrie was), then that says more about that person being active with the crowd in my opinion.

As I mentioned before, the state of CP has been lackluster, and everybody here has complained about it. The current operations team should be held accountable and not promoted for it.

I'm absolutely cherry picking the most absurd thing and calling it out. "Your" right.

I’ll remember that the next time you try to “call out” someone else for doing the same. Pot meet kettle.

And for the record, “your” is correct in the context that I used it. Nice try, though.

Maybe Carrie, Jason and John should host a Survivor-type elimination contest for anyone in consideration for the job. Challenges can include, but not be limited to:

  • Ride dispatch time challenge. Staff from IROC will be judging this one.
  • Number of enthusiast selfie requests at Coastermania.
  • Chicken wing eating contest with Bill Spehn while talking shop about who is most qualified to close a park without telling the public ahead of time.
  • Who has the most Twitter followers?
  • How little rain will it take before you close the rides unnecessarily? (Bonus points if the rain never actually makes it to the peninsula)
  • Number of black polo shirts owned.

^I like your (or is it you're, or even yor) ideas Cartwright. Add in some physical challenges such as racing up the Magnumxl2000 lift-hill stairs, or traversing the rope structures on Adventure Island, oh wait......Or, a Belmont Stakes type race on Cedar Downs. Bonus is a do-or-die Dodgem Derby with those super unresponsive cars they have, no head-on collisions please.

Oh and throw in a race! Quickest one to get to Charlotte and back. Any mode of transportation.

^^Some friends and I have had multiple high stakes (a round of beers, typically) wagers on Cedar Downs races in years prior. Good times.

Years (decades) ago two grandfathers were betting the same few dollars back and forth on Gemini races. This was back in the six train ops days so they had a new winner every 90 seconds or so. They were having as much fun as everyone on the ride.
