Windows Live Local (Cedar Point Fly-By)

Not sure how many of you all go to coasterbuzz.com, but I thought I would share this anyway. Windows Live Local has been released, and therein lie some of the best arieal Cedar Point pics I have ever seen. Dive in!

it doesn't seem to load for me.

I have a new liking for the Microsoft people. Hands down, most amazing view of CP (next to being there of course).

Amazing pictures, don't like the navigation though. Its a little jerky (definitely not as smooth as google maps). The images are just amazing though.

Does anyone know when the images were taken? I know its sometime before last season because the concrete work in front of the new games isn't finished, but maXair is done and the concrete there is in place. Plus, with no leaves on the trees it seems it would be mid to late March.

I'm kinda suprised there is no Disney World imagery yet. I would think that would have been gotten before Cedar Point, but oh well.

I can agree with work crew(march) since they are either putting together or taking apart monster.

It has to be sometime in early April of 2005. The midway for maXair looks like it was just poored and looking at pictures on CP's website, the midway looked just about dry on April 14 so I'll say April 8-11.

Is it bad when you know these things by looking at cement? :)

I'll say one things for sure. The Park is Just really empty! Gomez if thats an April Picture, do you think they put the trains on yet? I'm anxious to also see what Cedar Point looks like right now especially where Skyhawk is being built at.

It says it's Live, although I originally thought it was from earlier this off-season, I would say that it is from this spring, judging by activity around maXair and the lackthereof around Frontier Town.

I'm not sure what you're asking me, but I'm positive it is early April.

I'm guessing it was April, becuase Exhibit A (http://local.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&cp=41.482716~-82.683726&style=o&lvl=1&scene=2365171) shows Sky Ride cars on the midway still.

How could it not be from preseason? maXair is there, so that determines 2005, and WWL is there, so that determines before the season began. The lack of leaves on the trees means not summer, and since the park was open steady from opening until Labor Day (i.e. no weekends at the beginning of the season), this was before the season began. And of course, the buckets on the midway imply that this was not taken in the middle of the week in September or October. And on top of that there's no blue tarp in the SC lot.

If you look at Millennium Island, to the "left" of all of the coaster's structure, and just above and to the right of Bucky the Beaver (Paddlewheel Excursions), can anyone identify the round shapes on the ground and also the structure (maybe just a shed) that are slighly above those shapes? Just wondering.

I know...way too much time on my hands. Only 150 days!

You might be addicted to CP if....you argue for no apparent reason over the time when some pitures were taken.

I mean come on, does it really matter when they were taken? They are still pictures of CP.

Look at Snake River Falls. The water under that is drained, the lagoon is not.
